    Description

As a user, I would like to be able to use all features of the interface without ever having to see the sidetray.

The sidetray is the group of icons at the right side of the screen. I don't like having them obscuring the 3D viewport. All the dialogs (panels) that can be opened with the sidetray except Home, the top icon, can be opened with existing menu items, so the sidetray is almost completely redundant.

I suppose the Home panel should to be able to be started in some way other than sidetray, although I could live without being able to use the Home panel if needed. Not seeing the sidetray is more important than being able to use the Home panel.

I'd like to be able to turn the sidetray off, and have this "sidetray off" status persist through individual sessions, version updates, and uninstall-reinstalls.
