      Description

This makes the copy paste very slow for large copy blocks. It also make undoing an erroneous paste operation tedious.

      To observe this problem:

      1) create a prim
      2) create a script in the prim
      3) edit the script
      4) copy the entire script
      5) paste it to the end (we are not going to compile this)
      5) Use ctrl-Z to undo the paste operation.

You will see the lines of pasted code disappear one at a time. This suggests to me that the paste operation was executed as a line by line paste.

      ---------------
When you open a prim resident script for edit and if that script as many lines (say 600), it takes a quite a while (10-20 seconds) for the text to appear. I suspect that a script is being opened opened by 'pasting' the received text into a blank edit window. This would then be very slow.
