[BUG-8974] Temp rez object are not rezzed in a timely manner #16531
Comments
Hope Dreier commented at 2015-04-07T20:14:46Z Simon asked to be notified about this issue. |
Hope Dreier commented at 2015-04-07T20:34:33Z Symptoms are similar to SVC-5927. |
Lucia Nightfire commented at 2015-04-08T04:28:13Z Delayed rezzing can be not only annoying, but have undesired resource consequences which can also go unnoticed by the object owner. I believe any subsequent calls of llRezAtRoot() or llRezObject() by a rezzing script should remove the prior rez request in the queue if it is not being handled and add a new rez request at the end of the queue, not stack multiple requests from the same rez script. I also believe timeouts for scripted rezzing should be lower(providing asset object count allows) than with agents rezzing from inventory. There are also other things to consider such as newly rezzed object inventory loading having a higher priority over additional pending asset requests. |
Lucia Nightfire commented at 2015-04-10T05:22:15Z Autoreturn for rezzed objects should also reference the requested rez time, not the time they appear in the region. See SEC-1352 |
Hope Dreier commented at 2015-06-07T18:25:40Z This problem seems to be getting worse, not better. There was a period this afternoon where no temp rez objects were rezzed for at least 30 seconds, then all the objects requested were rezzed in a few (< 5) seconds. |
Lucia Nightfire commented at 2015-06-07T23:01:50Z The condition outlined in https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-8946 is prevalent in any region with random visitors and blocks asset handling whether by rezzing or attaching during its presence. It may be the root cause for this bug. |
Hope Dreier commented at 2015-08-17T14:43:51Z Working rez is expected behaivior |
Hope Dreier commented at 2015-08-17T14:45:23Z Failing Rez is the faulty behavior, this is an especially pathological case. |
Hope Dreier commented at 2015-08-18T19:57:05Z The builder's team reports that the arrows are mesh "[12:53:50] Allia (Allia Lane): yes, arrows are mesh, and because this issue has been noticed long time ago, I made many tests shooting at the same moment 3 arrows, prim, sculpted and mesh, and the issue doesn't depend on the arrow type, if the mesh doesn't appear, also prim and sculpted don't appear" quoted |
Hope Dreier commented at 2016-08-16T18:57:57Z I've finally reentered combat and this issue seems to have vanished. |
Hope Dreier commented at 2017-02-23T19:14:06Z, updated at 2017-02-23T19:17:19Z This issue seems to have resurfaced. On a busy region (Ghost Stronghold) 40+ Avatars. During combat there were at least two occurrences of arrows not being rezzed for several seconds, then all being released at once. |
Hope Dreier commented at 2017-05-30T18:57:53Z Is there any particular data that would help address this issue such as exact time of occurrence and Region name? |
Hope Dreier commented at 2017-08-07T21:18:00Z Still active, any hope of you actually looking at it soon? |
Hope Dreier commented at 2019-04-29T22:29:38Z I was having a discussion with a builder about Mono vs LsL scripts in objects, and how this may cause lag in the region when the objects are rezzed. So the issue may not be related to Mesh vs Prim objects but rather to the type of scripts in the objects. The builder is TwiFi Dryke (TwiFi Shamen) who hopefully will be able to get in touch. Since he controls a region and has allowed that it would be OK if you instrumented the region to see if this is the case. If it is the bulk of the problem it might be possible to contact the bulk of the weapons makers to have them simply change their scripts to LsL from Mono. |
Hope Dreier commented at 2020-03-31T19:14:53Z Update, just got back into combat, again, had had a really bad occurrence today starting around 1005 SLtime where there was a long (2-3 minute) period where NO projectiles were released, this was in the region Sword Death. |
Steps to Reproduce
Shooting arrows getting ready for a fight, or during a fight, this happens pretty much anytime.
Actual Behavior
When trying to shoot arrows (temp rez) the bow make the sound that it fired but no arrow appears, this can last for up to 20 seconds then suddenly all of the arrows that were 'fired' all appear at the same time, each then 'flys' to the point at which it was aimed.
Expected Behavior
That each arrow would rez when 'fired' and fly to the point at which it was aimed
