With a grid scale set at 0.125 meter the grid is 0.125 meter close to the camera, the further the grid gets from the camera the greater the grid line scale, up to a 2 meter scale at 64 meters.

Repro Incoming.

Hi Lassie,

I was able to reproduce your 'After' image easily enough. Please let me know the exact viewer version you generated your 'Before' image with.

Thanks!

After some research I found that this change was implemented by LL over a year ago, closing as expected behavior.

I reopened this issue and set it to NMI.

Firestorm has this change merged in now and we have been receiving complaints from builders about this change.
A builder is going to comment here why this change makes building more difficult for her.

I'll hunt down most recent viewer release version which doesnt show this problem.

I think the problem started with https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/viewer-release/commits/fbdd9cbd293af079a715d018bf6cb2c12011717b or one of the other STORM-1920 commits.

Speaking from an architectural point of view. Accurately stretching one or both sides of a prim, via snap to grid, from any point of view is simply crucial to building with prims.
Mind you, I am experienced with moving my camera, as using alt+ctrl with the mouse is the most proficient way to do it but, there are times when an entire area needs to be viewed while completing the task and having to move my camera to the middle of a prim, occupying my entire view in order to acquire the specified units of measure is very inconvenient to say the least.

Adding some more feedback from Soul Edenflower:

Grid increments when building now seem to be zoom related

When building and specificaly move or stretch prims the grid increments seem to change depending how far zoomed in you are. This is ok for small prims but for larger prims you are unable to zoom close enough to get fine grid increments - by the time you get fine increments you are zoomed so close you can no longer see the prim.

The last version functioned ok and not zoom related.

If this is a change to function then it has seriously hindered easy building. Previous version was as should be. Thanks
