Steps to Reproduce

I created and saved a new outfit. It saved to the MY OUTFITS folder. When attempting to move (Click and drag as I have MANY times in the past) the new outfit to another folder (I have all my outfits sorted in folders under MY OUTFITS named by the type of pants the outfit contains) it will not allow me to move it. I only receive the red circle with the line through it when I move the cursor over the new folder. This is only occurring while moving the outfits to subfolders under MY OUTFITS. It appears I can move the new outfit to folders located elsewhere.

Actual Behavior

I am unable to move a newly created inventory item (Outfit) to another folder

Expected Behavior

I was expecting it to work as it had in the past. Where I create a new outfit, then I drag and drop the new outfit to the appropriate subfolder under MY OUTFITS

Other information

This happened last week also, (see ticket 01999408) at the suggestion of the LL help I uninstalled, deleted SL and reinstalled it. Fix was ok for a week but now its doing same thing again. I do not want to keep having to uninstall and reinstall SL to fix this again.

This behavior is definitely different with the maintenance RC 3.7.16 (294015) . It is not possible to drag a folder into My Outfits or to any of its subfolders. This from MAINT-2018?

It is possible to drag folders there with with 3.7.15 (293376), the current release viewer.

However, looking at can_move_to_outfit() in llinventorybridge.cpp, maybe that wasn't really supposed to work in the first place.

Odd side effect: it is still possible to drag folders out of My Outfits to elsewhere, and they retain their outfit flags (coat hanger on folder icon). It is not possible to drag other folders into these, even if they reside outside of My Outfits.

So, as one workaround, drag contents instead of folders between My Outfits folders.

As a second workaround, if nesting is important, you can move outfits outside of the My Outfits folder, for example under Clothing. You may need to transfer items from the special outfit folders into plain ones. Skip the appearance floater and from inventory, use right-click>Replace Current Outfit to wear them. If desired, to save the flattened combination to My Outfits, use the normal Me>Appearance and Save As.

Hmm I have a feeling this behaviour change is actually a fix rather then a bug, but I may be wrong :D
It has always been a bad idea to nest folders within the My Outfits folder. Doing so causes unexpected behaviour in a few ways.
As Obvious says if you want to use nested folders for outfits it's best to do this within the Clothing folder as she describes.

Obvious, thanks for the suggestions. Figured out how to work around the issue before I contacted the LL help folks. Just was easier to look at the MY OUTFITS and know that's where all my outfits were.

Whirly, I've been making subfolders in the MY OUTFITS fold for quite some time. Not sure why the MY OUTFITS would be different than any other folder for storage (but I don't have the insight into the SL programming you all have). Not sure what unexpected behaviors you are referencing to as up until recently its not been a problem. I may end up taking the route of moving my outfit subfolders to the clothing folder. Submitted this only due to the fact that from my end, something isn't working as it did before. Gets on the frustrating side when that happens.
