How would you like the feature to work?

Currently when avatar who does not meet the access requirements for a skill gaming region is refused entry, they are presented with the toast alert shown in Fig 1 (attached) which reads:

|Teleport failed.

Unable to enter region. [REGION NAME] is a Skill Gaming Region, and you must meet certain criteria in order to enter. For details, please review the [Skill Gaming FAQ](http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Skill_Gaming_in_Second_Life Skill Gaming FAQ).

It can be very unclear which of the listed criteria under Why Can't I access a Skill Gaming Region at the [Skill Gaming FAQ](http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Skill_Gaming_in_Second_Life Skill Gaming FAQ) that they failed to meet.

Instead of the toast alert giving a link to the [Skill Gaming FAQ](http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Skill_Gaming_in_Second_Life Skill Gaming FAQ) I would like to see a link given to a section under the avatar's account information at https://secondlife.com/my/account/ named something like "Skill Gaming Region access" which presents a checklist of the requirements failed and met in order to gain access to skill game regions, similar to the way "Mesh Upload Status" currently works - see Fig 2 (attached).

# Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

The current feedback given as to why an avatar cannot access a skill gaming region is too vague.

Providing clear specific reasons of the requirements for skill game region access that an avatar failed to meet allows Residents to quickly fix each failed requirement themselves without having to go and bug Linden Lab support to find out why they cannot gain access to skill game regions.

The system as it currently stands will cause an increased load on Linden lab support and confusion for Residents.

## Requirements for access to skill game regions currently listed in the documentation.

Access requirements are currently listed in 2 places:

1. Why can’t I access a Skill Gaming Region?

|
|-|
|There are a number of reasons you may not be able to access a Skill Gaming Region, including:

- Your jurisdiction may not be permitted by Linden Lab for this activity.
- If you are in a permitted jurisdiction for this activity, you may not meet its requirements. Whenever you attempt to access a Skill Gaming Region, we check certain pieces of your account information against the requirements of our policy, including your billing address, age, and the location from which you are logging into Second Life. If this information is not available or does not satisfy the requirements, you will not be able to access the region.

2. Authorized Participants

|
|Only users that meet the criteria for Skill Gaming are permitted to access Skill Gaming Regions and participate in Skill Gaming in Second Life. Participation is limited to residents who are at least 19 years of age and do not reside in a prohibited state. Please review the list of prohibited states below to see if you can participate. For more information about why you may not be able to access Skill Gaming Regions in Second Life, please see the FAQ.

Prohibited States & Countries

Residents of the following states and countries may not participate in Skill Gaming in Second Life:

- Arizona
- Arkansas
- Delaware
- Florida
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Maryland
- South Carolina
- South Dakota
- Tennessee

## Example of the problem

My alt Kippy Adored is unable to access the test skill gaming region at Crunchy and I have been unable to work out what requirements she is failing to meet.

Running through the checklist for Kippy Adored:

- You must be at least 19 years of age
Passed
I'm 45 >.<
Checking Kippy's account details at https://secondlife.com/my/?lang=en-US, it does not appear the birthday date I registered Kippy's account with is listed anywhere so I am unable to check this information is correct for this account.

- You must not reside in a prohibited state / Your jurisdiction may not be permitted by Linden Lab for this activity / ...the location from which you are logging into Second Life
Passed.
I'm in the UK.
My Whirly Fizzle account is able to access Crunchy region on the same computer and connected over the same network so I know I did not fail this requirement.

- Billing address - If this information is not available or does not satisfy the requirements, you will not be able to access the region.
This is where I thought the problem was at first.
Kippy did not have my RL address entered at https://secondlife.com/my/account/contact.php?lang=en-US
I filled out this section over 24 hours ago (using the same RL address as Whirly) and Kippy is still unable to access Crunchy region.

In addition:
- Kippy has Payment info on file and this payment method has been used many times.
- Kippy has a valid Payment method on file at https://accounts.secondlife.com/billing_information/?lang=en-US and has bought L$ many times.
- Kippy is not registered as a Scripted Agent
- Kippy is a Basic member - being a premium member is not listed as a requirement for access to skill game regions anywhere though.
- Kippy is approved to upload mesh - https://secondlife.com/my/account/ip/index.php?lang=en-US

Please make it easier for me to know why my alt cannot access skill gaming regions without having to contact Linden Lab support :)|

Hopefully this will help someone else having the same problem with accessing skill gaming regions my alt was.

It turned out my alt did actually meet all the requirements for accessing a skill gaming region and even though my alts payment method was valid and could be and has been used to buy L$ within the viewer I was advised by support to remove my payment method and then readd the same payment method to force a refresh of the information.
After doing this, my alt could immediately access skill gaming regions :)

Maybe this advice should be added to the official documentation somewhere?

Same situation for me. Two of my accounts had no issue reaching skills gaming regions, while 1 account could not, even though the same credit card was on file. It's not enough to say have PIOF when the PIOF is not recognized in same cases for some, as yet, unknown reason, even when that PIOF is recognized for purchasing L$s and paying tier.

Really hope this gets added... honestly I have no idea why I can't access a skill gaming region either. I meet all the requirements.

I was going to tease Live Chat support with this problem today, because I'm an evil and mean person, but I've actually re-read http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Second_Life_Skill_Gaming_FAQ and decided to try the suggestion put there ("Note: If you believe you meet all requirements for access, but are still unable to enter a Skill Gaming Region, please try resubmitting your current billing information and re-logging into Second Life as a first step toward troubleshooting"). After going into Billing page ( https://accounts.secondlife.com/billing_information/ ), removing my PayPal (not with Change, but the Remove link) and re-adding it, then relogging both on SL webpage and inworld I was able to access Crunchy test region ( http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Crunchy/128/128/2 ). I wasn't able before, and I was getting the same "unable to access" message (I'm age verified, in annual premium account plan, and live in Eastern Europe - Poland).

So it seems, that "you can access skill gaming region" is not updated automatically or pulled from current billing information, but only when you add this info manually, when you re-register payment method. Worth to try?

We have been improving the FAQ documentation on this; providing detailed messages in the viewer presents some problems, so we think providing a pointer to that documentation is sufficient.
