I'd like to echo the request for your email provider

Okay, if your provider is 1und1 (One and One) then please see the discussion in the comments on issue BUG-6591.
It appears that using a different email provider is the only solution for now because 1und1 are blocking mail sent from Second Life.

Thanks a lot for your answer, although there is a slight ambiguity: how do you explain that I receive all the comments to this enquiry on my Email address via Second Life; somehow that is not blocked despite the fact it is a SL mail...................

Hopefully a Linden can answer that for you but I suspect 1und1 are blocking the simulator IP addresses so JIRA mail will not be affected.

I am having the same problem. Just for testing, i changed my mail from a 1&1 address to a @T-Online address. But it still doesn't work.
So i'd rather think it's a SL problem since 1&1 and T-Online are two different mail providers.

Contacted 1&1, still waiting for a reply but as mentioned before, receive certain mails direct to my registered mail box from Second Life but still no IM tranfers.

Hi Popov,

I check with the devs on Monday
Could you name the email addresses that make it to your 1&1 account with secondlife.com domain and which ones are not?

Hello Caleb,

Thanks for your help, unfortunately I won't be much of a help for this since I do not keep not important Emails — i.e.: Transfer IMs [these are the ones which I no longer receive], and those concerning notices from Linden Lab, I would call advertisement such as the one you sent a few days ago concerning the latest gift for premium account holders which I got through my 1&1 account and was erased once dealt with (great gift, by the way). The only ones I have record of, are the ones from what I called "important" mails (like the ones concerning this matter) and these are getting to my 1&1 mail box; the latest records are the mail coming from: no-reply@secondlife.com. To summarise: it would seem the official Emails from Secondlife.com get to me via my 1&1 mail box but the IM transfers do not. I hope that is clear and of help.

Hello Caleb,

Thanks for your replies (though I don't really understand them .......), the purpose of this message is that I have received a reply from 1&1 about my query concerning this matter, here is a copy of the part related to it:
"In connection to your concerns, we would like to know if there's a bounced back message when somebody tried to send email to your 1&1 email account from secondlife.com? If so, please provide us a copy of the bounced back message with full headers so that we can further check on the issue. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you."
I thought you may be able to provide me with a bounced back message, since SL is the sender and not me, if so could you let me have a copy to send to 1&1. Thank you.

Thank you MartinRJ, I have transferred these bounced back messages to 1&1 for their perusal, let's see what will come out of it.

Hello Caleb,
Please find enclosed a reply from 1&1 concerning the matter on hand, I think that should be of interest to SL:

"Please check this message below:

550 Bad DNS PTR resource record

The e-mail server you are using is provided by a dynamically allocated IP address. As Spam is usually sent from e-mail servers with dynamically allocated IP addresses, our system, as with most e-mail service providers, rejects every e-mail sent from these servers. Please contact the administrator of your system who should then contact us.

Please be advise to access this link: http://postmaster.1and1.com/en/contact/?ip=216.82.49.189 this link will indicate that the blocklisted is not us. It is them was being blocklisted."

Thanks for all your help.
