How would you like the feature to work?

I suppose this may be an overall gamepad support ideal, but having support for a gamepad to build script controls around would be pretty cool.
Support for 8 unique buttons and two joysticks using a shorthand "game pad" nomenclature "CONTROL_GP_"
Alternatively, just adding more CONTROL_ flags even by a Keyboard standard would also be useful.

Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

Would help in delivering entertainment experiences.
