  'What just happened?': "A friend logged off as I was typing an IM. Just before I sent it, I got the system message that < the friend> is offline. That's normal when a friend logs out. I pressed Return to send the IM, whereupon I instantly got the system message that the Friend is online. I checked my Friends list and the Friend is highlighted as being online, but it isn't online. It happens so quickly that it isn't possible for anyone to log out and in in the second or two that it took. I straightaway sent another (short) IM, and I got the correct message that the Friend is offline and that the message will be stored, as normal. It been happening quite frequently lately, and with any Friend. It may even happen with those who are not friends, but I don't know.",
