[BUG-37730] Marketplace Boolean Search Working Improperly #12052

Description
Steps to Reproduce
I was searching Marketplace. I typed "ice skates" into search. I got 3030 results. I typed "ice skates NOT demo" and got 30927 results. I am using Firefox. My partner uses Chrome, it doesn't matter what browser or computer one uses, it explodes the amount of results using the boolean NOT. It didn't list the demos when I used the NOT, but the results should be fewer not more.
Actual Behavior

Expected Behavior
I expected fewer results with the NOT demo. I don't need thousands of irrelevant items added to the search result when I use NOT. Please fix.

This has been happening to me for days! For instance, I'll search for "mesh boots black hud" and get 1773 results... when I search for "mesh boots black hud NOT slink" I get 1,537,381! I've tried Firefox and Chrome and tried different computers (because I could) and it's always the same. Can we have the NOT back please?

I asked others to look at this jira and one of them told me to try "ice AND skates NOT demo" .. that works, but as my friend searched .. is "mesh AND boots AND black AND hud NOT slink" going to be the way of things now? Ideally I'd like to see search reverted to what it was before. Since I doubt that will happen, at least fix the silliness of all those ANDs jsut to search for one NOT.

okay searching: red AND dress turns up 104867 results but searching: red dress turns up 59511 results. I'm just confused now.

Searching red dress in All Categories gave me 62,644 hits.
Searching red OR dress, All Categories, gives 1,232,827 hits. (eep!)
Searching red AND dress, All Categories, gives 111,759 hits.
Searching "red dress" with quotes, All Categories, gives 62,344 hits.
This is nonintuitive, to say the least.
