Steps to Reproduce

Search the marketplace for user names. If you search for my avatar name, you get results. If you search for parkerraine you get no results when there should be hundreds. (Edit: parkerraine has added his name to the store name, so results may eventually show up. Try Krystal Wrigglesworth instead)

Actual Behavior

In the past, you could search by avatar name on the marketplace front page, and all products from that user would be listed. Now it works for some avatar names but not for others. You can search for the store by using the "Merchant/Stores" tab, but that wasn't required before.

Expected Behavior

Results to be returned when searching on an avatar name that has products on the marketplace.

Other information

This may be related to BUG-37670

Adding the avatar name to the store name appears to work around the issue, but items are only added to the results at about 8 per day.

Addint the avatar name to keywords works immediately, but is a super tedious work around.

As far as I can tell, searching for an avatar name returns results if either they do not have a custom store name (store name is their avatar name) or their store name includes their avatar name.
The names that fail all appear to have a store name which doesn't include their avatar name.

I thought that as well, since my name is in the store name, but I'm being told by family that they are absolutely sure it used to turn up results by searching by avi name.

Can I ask that it be double checked if the new marketplace search has dropped indexing of the avatar name?

When someone has an item that they like, searching the creator is the easiest way to find other things they may like, especially if the creator doesn't include their store name in the product description.

I figure it can be cheated by adding the avatar name to the keywords, but if it was an oversight, I'd rather see it fixed.

I think you are correct. The old MP search used to always return results for all avatar names.

Is there anything I need to do to this jira to make sure it is understood that it should be added back?

Any word on if searching by avatar name will return? Adding the avatar name to the store name does appear to work, sort of. Search results on store name changed to add avatar name are only increasing at a rate of a few items a day. Maybe there is a background re-index routine that runs at a super low priority?

Phate, we will add back the ability to search on creator name in addition to store name. Thanks!

Should be fixed now.
