What just happened?

I try to explain it again, I be not tired about it atm :)

it goes NOT only about "how to search" in Marketplace ... I try now 2 weeks to explain that by me as Merchant is the Best Selling List not the same in Store as under Merchants in my Top Seller List. They are both complete confuse and Different. I have under Merchant in Best Seller List tons of Stuff that I sold over years and should be like before when I open my Side in Store on first side and shows the BEST Sellings. This is not anymore after the last Update End of February. Same with listening News and and .. the Lists are all different - BUT they used to reflect the same items in the Merchant Top Sellers chart. The Top Sellers chart has not changed, but the order in the store no longer matches it.

What comes? Sales goes down and not only by me - so when will LL/Marketplace Team fix this and make it correct how it was before the Update changes all in a Mess

Maybe some will now understand that this wrong listening goes deeper as only speak about "blue and Shirt" .. here it goes deep in the Top Sales that I had over long years and is now for me or Customers no longer public and all what shows are lists with a Mix of old and out of seasons Stuff or Stuff that I sell at last Year or long Years ago and are old and not anylonger on Top. This is a realy big Problem and need to be fixed

What were you doing when it happened?

I send Tickets and Jira - all closed cause I think that none read realy clear to understand what was wrong with the last Update from MP Team End of February. It goes not only about "how to use the new search" .. the BEST Selling Lists and Stuff are a Mess and mirrors not my Sales I had over years and should shows in List - closed Tickets or Jira is the badest way with copy/paste answe

What were you expecting to happen instead?

Okay ... I want to see my Best Selling Stuff in my Store exactly mirror with my Best Selling List from the Side in MP under "Merchant - Top Selling Products. This must be 100 % mirror both side - and I like to tell that I be not the only one to have this Problem but the most don't know how to make a Jira or have the knowledge to explain it

Completely agree with Caren. This issue has gone on for way too long. My best sellers don't even rank in the top 96 of either the relevance or best selling sort, when before these changes they were ALWAYS in the top spots. They are NO LONGER selling because they are no longer visible to shoppers who use the default relevance sort when visiting a store, and they have lost their top spots when shopping by category. How can this not be fixed? My sales have literally declined by 80% since the end of February and it is completely and totally due to this bug/mistake in programming.

Totally agree, The Marketplace is a mess such a shame to change the way it was previously working, high loss of sales here too. Relevance is totally messed up search is a shambles throws up all old stuff. even my best selling items are no where to be seen! , it makes you wonder why we bother to complain as no one listens. This has gone on for far to long now.

I try to explain now this over long time and startet with Tickets - closed,  then Jira - closed, then new Tickets - same. Then answers in Tickets "we hear you but no Ea atm and will work on it in coming days" ... Update comes but doesn't fixed the Problem. Then I got copy/paste Answer in Ticket and LL closed it again .. I open new Ticket and Comment was that I should join Links in Group for MP Team .. 

I understand, that something can not be fixed fast and need some Time but now I like to ask why not one from the MP Team take the time to read and respond on a short way.  I got Info in my Ticket today, I used the wrong way over Ticket and should open again a Jira. But I did this before and it would be closed without any Words from the Team. Now I open it again with the Shots I send in Ticket before too and maybe not all Merchants have this Problem with the Mess in Listening.

But Fact is: I can only speak for me - I worked over years hard to have my Shop inworld and my Store in MP and all runs fine, and then comes Update.

This was 2020, 2021-2023 every single Year at Valentine/Spring/Easter and break the MP Lists with this Update (chainges every year in Searches something) and what comes? Update from Update cause none checked before the Update and each time Best Sale-Lists was changes and broken. Every year goes this deep in the Sales. But the Team fixed it fast. Now 2023. Same Mess, same Tickets and same Shots and Jira and none will see the Problem. We lost Sales, must live to long now with old Mess in Lists and we can't find our best Seller for what we worked hard over long years and after sending Tickets, adding Comments, open Posts in Forum and open Jira is all I got today - "sorry but you can join the Group for MP Team and speak there". 

NO! I think this Jira shows that I be not alone with this massive Problem and it will be realy very kind from the MP Team when they read this and the Comments from other here and WORK to FIX it better yesterday as tomorrow and help us to get our Best Sales back in our Lists.

The last Updated - try blue Shirt" ... this doesn't help us on any way. We need our Sales Lists back! And if this Jira will be closed again, I will copy this every time till someone hopefuly listen and notice how big the Problem is for us and find a way to help. 2020-2022 comes a fast Fix/Update for the Lists but this time - nothing! PS: closing quiet this Jira again, let me open a new one till I have my Store back with my Sale-List as it was before the Update make a Mess at all.

Daily MP Check and notice new Issue: List of Best Selling List in my Store at MP and the Relevance Side in Store are complete the same!  

Not one of the Top from Best Sellers are listening (Top 3 from me only copy from today as Example from hundrets)

The Objects there are listen, are the Items I sold one day ago. They are showing now in both Lists exactly on same Place. I open my Top Selling List under Merchant in MP and show here the last 3 Items for Example and not one is showing in MP in my Lists. THIS is what I try to say the long time now. Mixed Mess. How many Examples need the MP Team to see this Problem and start to fix it?

Is anyone going to fix this? Everyday I wake up with a smidgen of optimism that I will look at my store and see it sorted correctly - my best and most recent selling items ranking at the top of the relevance sort as they should be. What I am greeted with is a total confused mess with absolutely no rhyme or reason to the order. Sales have dropped precipitously. It doesn't matter what actually does sell because the algorithm never sorts it so it can climb in the ranks so that more shoppers will see it and have the opportunity to buy. One of the strangest aspects of this broken relevance sort is that it pulls up items (old items) and shows 2, 3, 4 of the same style/different colors in succession. They sure don't sell that way! Why isn't someone from LL speaking to the Merchants? We need feedback. We need a correction.

We open Tickets, we open Jira, expain long time what kind of Problems after Update End of February goes deep in the Sales and no respond, no Info that one from the Marketplace Team notice the Posts from us here or in the Community Forum ... I can't believe it, realy .. we send Shots and and .. what should we do more?

I reported a similar issue 10+ days ago with screenshots of my own store's relevant items that are showing the least sold items first and has no rhyme or rhythm. My sales have declined enormously but still there's no fix. I don't know why it's so hard to revert to the old system as we're losing out on thousands without compensation. I have been hearing that there's no ETA yet for 1.5 weeks now.

Its a shame and today I saw under Relevance and Best Selling List in my Store more and more xmas and fall Stuff that was not before there. Its more but different .. it seems all old shit comes from down to up every day more ... and the MP Team let us alone with this Shit after Update now 3 full weeks .. Oncemore: Its a slap in our face every day more!

Every day when I check my MP Store .. I shake my Head and ask me how long need the Team to work and change the Mess that comes after Update. And WHY it need so long. When is "in coming days" .. when is an ETA there for fixing the Mess.. This is so damn frustrated ....... and I remember the Post here 10 days ago from Shrike Linden ........ "we are working on them as quickly as we can"  ...

Thanks Shrike I'm sure we appreciate your engineers are working on a fix but a month has passed and merchants and buyers alike are more than concerned if the marketplace will every work the way it used to. 

Sales have dropped dramatically and users struggle to find anything in the mess. I appreciate updates are necessary but some indication of time frame for this fix would be very reassuring to us all. To be fair seeing it on the status page would also be reassuring at least then we would not need to keep adding tickets here or sending support tickets. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have it there. 

Search by relevance is completely broken.

My sales have declined dramatically since late february but still there's no fix. I don't know why it's so hard to do a roll back to the old system. It was working fine for everybody, it wasn't the best but at least it was fair.

Update and checked my "Relevance List" and my "Best Selling List" in my MP Store again full of Hope and what should I say? Old Winter Stuff in Best Selling List again or okay, like before after End of February. There is Stuff in both Lists that I would range under "sale was realy bad" and had nothing to do with BEST.  My Top Selling List under Merchants is the only List that is absolutly perfect and again, after near one Month is nothing changes. None from Marketplace Team gives a Comment or let us know if they notice us or our Tickets, Jiras from the last time (the old Tickets and Jiras would closed without any help).  What are we with our Stores and as Merchants for you? What kind of Support is this? Why need it so long to find professional Help for us or when there is NOT ETA like we get as copy/paste Answer is none willing to make a Rollback or fix this last Update from End of February. Why need this all so long??? How much Comments you need in Forum under "merchants" from us and here in Jiras? What can we do more that someone of the Team hear us? Near one month with bad Sales in MP is not enough to help?

There have been many reports of bugs in the search function problem, but the response from LL seems to be the same each time.
I would like to ask a question there.
Is LL really working on fixing the issue? If so, to what stage have the fix been completed? It's been about a month, but I would like you to reassure us by letting us know about the specific steps that have been taken so far. 
I hope that this issue will be resolved as soon as possible.

I'm tired slowly with all this Mess in MP .. I upload some Minutes ago 2 new Items (Vase cream with Flowers and same in grey). The cream vase is under News in my Store the 2nd one not. But both are in my Store when I go in search and try to find them with the full name. Customer can see under "Newest first" only the cream one. This kills slowly all .. incl. my Patience. Every day comes more Issues ... I have now Idea what now is happen again ......... Important point for: When Customer use in search "news" in Store what they maybe realy see, cause under "Marketplace -> see all categories -> under search then Age newest first" is the Vase in cream from me listening but not the 2nd one in grey. Okay, after waiting over a month for fixing all this Problems at Marketplace and send tons of Jira, Tickets or Posts in Forum - every day more and more Merchants with loss of Sales now the Fazit after Update today: It changes nothing! What kind of support is this when we hear "we hear you, we are working on it, we notice it, please wait till the next Update April 6th comes, wait wait wait ... and we hope ... and have the same Mess as before. 

  • Top Selling List is the same as list under Relevance and shows "new Year and Xmas Stuff" ... I don't want to post shots anymore cause is the same I post here 3 Weeks ago and in another Jira that was closed from LL over 5 Weeks before.
  • Sales near Zero
  • same Mess as before
  • same wondering over the Support from Marketplace Team / Merchants
  • no explain before from the Team what this Update will be fixed - we hope - we loss

Unreal. We've been waiting over a month for fixes to the mountain of JIRAs, support tickets, and forum posts to fix everything from incorrect sorting (relevance and best selling) to the listing enhancements, and more. Today's MP maintenance did NOT fix those things. We need to see a blog post to explain what changes WERE made. LL when are you going to address the outstanding issues on which we provide feedback practically +every single day?+

Same here... hoping they fix something yesterday. But instead I have the same issues like 3 weeks ago... Best Selling is last and the rest is random, as I mentioned in my bug report from 2 weeks ago.

Over 5 weeks ago, I ask for Rollback, start ot open TIcket, Jira and post here. I add Tommy Linden in Forum Posts "with hope he talk with us" cause I can't understand why they closed Tickets, Jira all without any words. No transparency, no Info what they would do and how to help us. In the last week open more and more Merchants Jira and send Infos about: how and why we need help - nothing. We knew that the Update would come and had Hope - but when we see how the Info comes about this Update for yesterday - it was not a special Info - only that they work and fixed "something in MP". 

We hope that the Update fixed "Listing Enhancements" but they don't. All other Bugs are the same Mess like before too and I was full of hope too that my Listenings shows me not like today again the old Stuff from New year, Xmas or Halloween ... 

I ask before this all realy was a Problem here in Forum for a Rollback in one big Post - nothing. But they take 10 % from the small Sales we have at last and what I don't understand is this: LL must have massive loss in Sales too and it seems that is not a big problem for them and how they "work with us" shocks me realy. They are hard working on SL20 Birthday and SL Mobile .. but they show here now how "important" Merchants are for them. It seems we come at last .. and THIS makes me realy realy sad. 

The Team had Time enough to made a Rollback 5 Weeks ago as the Mess starts .. and now we sit day by day, week by week and feel lost. Thank you LL/MP-Team for this "great Easter Egg" 😌 thank you for nothing! They did this Mess in Search every Single Year in Spring/Valentine/Easter but fixed them mostly in one week. We lost at this time much they don't learn and send us again with an Update 5 weeks ago in a Nightmare snd this Time they let us alone. I can't believe it  .. I can't and ask myself: why?? ..the Rollback was our Chance ... but none of the Team was willing to hear.

Thank you Tommy Linden, for taking your time to send us the last Info about the coming Update 

I used a translator to understand the coming Update and sorry I don't jump now arround. Maybe the Translator made mistakes but I try to explain something that the Team send in Info for coming Update:

1. Recently we made a change to the default sort for merchant stores to "newest first" instead of "relevance." This was done to prevent old or outdated products from being the first thing shoppers see when visiting a merchant store, and we have seen increased sales across the Marketplace as a result. 

why they changed this and at the end comes the Mess that all older stuff was infront the Store. And "increased sales across the Marketplace" was the result? Where? Sorry I can't believe this! I checked yesterday different Stores in MP and sometimes I think the Merchants didn't notice this the last weeks but I saw very often Old Stuffs on their first sides too and tons of Demos with 0 L by Clothing Stores and I mean Tons!

2. We have adjusted the weighting of each of these factors with the last search upgrade. This is something we actively monitor and adjust and your product may have ranked higher in relevance under the previous weighting. 

Well "may have ranking higher" .. and they work on it in Future cause they want to have an eye on it. Wasn't over 5 weeks not enough?

3. Relevance sort requires a search term to really function in the way it is intended. When viewing a Marketplace store page or the product search with relevance sort enabled and no search term, you will get unexpected results. 

Oh yes we notice this. But me as Merchant open my Store side and want to see all like it was before cause it was good as it was. I don't type any Search Words in my own Sides when I check if all is fine. It was all fine till end of February.

4. If your items do not fall into the top 50k they will all be ranked the same. This is why your best selling sort may not match your best selling reports. In short, your items will only have a sales rank if they fall into the top 50k. Best selling sort has always functioned this way and has not changed. 

... We hope this will be a better long-term solution than the previous relevance sort and clearly communicate to shoppers what are the most popular products in a creator’s store. 

This was the biggest Issue in Update for me, sorry. Small shops need how long to sell 50k from one Item??? Why changing this rank? Before was the Top Selling list under Merchant Point in MP the best and shows in Mirror in Shop on Best Selling the same good Items and People used this ranking too like the Relevance. 

With that in mind, we are currently working on a change to allow best selling to now index each merchant’s store individually instead of just the top 50k items. This will allow shoppers to see any creator’s best selling items when viewing a store page. 

Well, if I understand it right - they will be change it back like it was before. None knows when ... I hope after this long time they change this soon

5{}. As always, we are also continuing maintenance and have a planned release Monday April 10th to fix a bug impacting merchant product listing enhancements.{

Okay Monday they planned to fix a Bug: Merchant product listing enh..  .. okay and it seems the rest must wait hopefuly not over 5 weeks anymore

6. We have seen good sales results with our current changes and are very excited for our upcoming improvements. ... Our top priority is the best experience for our Marketplace creators and shoppers and we hope these changes will bring us closer to that goal. 

Their current changes results good sales ... I can't remember how often I read here and inworld in IMs the words: Los or zero Sales

Over 5 weeks without any respond from the MP Team till yesterday sounds for me not like "top priority",  sorry

At the End is this for me a big Listening with "nice Words like Flowers in a Bag" but on backside shows this for me only that they try to fix the Mess in future they did End of February.

I personaly hope that the listing enhancements then work after Monday cause this seems priority first and is okay cause without working costs this LL tons of Money  and Merchants los sales like hell. The Rest .. I think we need much more patient as before and no, I don't jump now around and be full of Hope. But I pray that in future the Team realize the Mess at the End that can lost our Business before they make a new Update and shows more sense at all. Let us hope the Best

Grid status shows nothing for today - okay maybe they planed it hidden... like important parts they changed without asking what Merchants/Sellers think about it. My Problem all the time is to understand their way. If I have a Company with so much People is it not my opinion to save only a part of them to have good sales and the rest can do what they want. I would check out BEFORE I make so massive changings who win and who not and sorry but none should lost. And when this is realy for me important like they say "All Merchants have priority top" then should I work so and in 5 weeks comes nothing - they changed, mess comes and they be quiet over this full time. Listening Enhance maybe will work now cause yes, I think they lost much Money but the rest - I see the Mess like before and maybe it will be fixed in future - should it work then after weeks and hope with crossed finger if it runs better? Waiting near 6 weeks, waiting till they start to fix this mess and then waiting weeks till it seems it help. Its a count over tooo long weeks for something they change without knowing if this good or bad. IF they changed something like this blind in SL with Landlandlords/Landladies and they have massive Problems to got their Rent and can't pay anymore the rent or the Sims would be down - what do you think how long will it need that the LL Team jump and help and fix it? The way MP Team want to "go closer to that goal they wish" should go not on shoulder from Merchants and should not have Updates where they think and hope the Mess ends in weeks .. month ... this is for not all but for many Merchants a suicide in steps

All the changes by LL are worth trying, but (i know, always complaining about the same feature) I have one product, which I sold about 20 times more then my second-best-selling one. And even more, it has been ranked in the 3 top-selling-products on the marketplace-search for nearly one year now. But now, when I click on "best-selling" (in item search, not in my shop) it will constanly be the very last product in the 8 pages of results that come up.

LL said a produt needs to be in the 50K to have a ranking. And more important: "it has always been that way"... so how does this fit with the results I described above ?

And what confuses me the most is: evrey few days it changed and the ranking is correct, but a few days later it is messed up again.
