Information

After the recent Bulk Redelivery feature was released, I've had store owners unwantedly redelivering "updates" to objects I've purchased, including demos for products I eventually bought, but mostly likely didn't buy.

There is also the possibility that store owners will use this as a means of advertising new products as well as location changes, by including a notecard that mentions new products/pricing or a landmark of the new location along with the redelivered product(s).

Since I don't wish to have to mute "most" of these over-zealous/ambitious sellers, I ask that Marketplace customers be allowed a few options to block these redeliveries.

Here are 4 of the most common options that come to mind:

  • Allow a store owner or manager to redeliver a purchase to me if the listing allows automatic redelivery.

  • Allow a store owner or manager to redeliver a purchase to me if the listing does not allow automatic redelivery.

  • Allow a store owner or manager to redeliver a 0 L$ purchase to me.

  • Allow a store owner or manager to redeliver a demo purchase to me.

All 4 options are enabled by default.

For listings that satisfy more than one option, any condition can be met to block redelivery. So if a customer is only blocking demo redeliveries and a store owner redelivers a product that is 0 L$ and is a demo, it will be blocked even if the customer allows 0 L$ product redeliveries.

At least in the CasperVend system, the use of mass-delivery for anything other that actual product updates is a ToS violation. This may be the same with the marketplace. If so, you may wish to review the ToS and see if they deserve a report.

Honestly, any item labelled 'demo' should never be mass-redelivered. That's clearly them advertising their store, and unwanted spam.
