I have a number of mesh items rezzed out and was changing the textures. However when I pick the items up, or when i shift+drag a copy the textures are reverted back to the default white texture. The Normal & Specular map textures remain, it is only the diffuse that is reverted.
I have tested this on several regions using 2 different avatars and using 2 different viewers. It only seems to affect mesh objects, default prims retain the changes.
Second Life Server 2020-07-10T18:46:54.544832 is working as expected
Second Life Server 2020-07-17T18:59:33.545166 this is the version which fails to preserve the changes.
What were you doing when it happened?
I was trying to edit textures on an item that i sell in my store.
What were you expecting to happen instead?
I was expecting the changes to be preserved and not be reverted back to default
Other information
Changing textures is an important thing for just about any creator in SL, and even though this only appears to be affecting mesh and RC regions it is vital that we have a solution for this asap.

Bug also reproduces with objects that have no material texture but have the diffuse texture set to alpha masking.
When shift copying, the diffuse texture isn't removed but glow, colour etc are removed from both original & the object copy.
