How would you like the feature to work?

  1. Expand "Limited Quantities Available" text on product screen to Quantity Available [Number].

2 - Make above a searchable field so I can search (for example)
Merchant "Scarlet Creative" - avail now
Perms "Transfer" - avail now
Quantity ">3" new

Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

During key Gacha Events, there is significant cloning of products put up by "pirate" sellers who create unlimited copies of transfer products - which has not to date been solved for in platform. Showing the number of each item available for sale allows genuine creators to quickly ascertain if it's a pirate seller and file a takedown notification.

Benefit of Request 1:
1 - Creators are losing significant income during these mass pirate event which are timed to occur during large events opening such as The Arcade and Epiphany.
2 - Pirate accounts are cashing out via Tilia profiting from pirate products for longer periods as creators cannot easily identify sellers who are doing this.
3 - Residents are not aware they are buying a pirate copy of a product and showing the number will help us all drive awareness so people help support legal and ethical content on the platform
4 - Linden Lab may get multiple DMCA pages daily during the start of each event as we find them "one by one" causing increased work for the copyright team. Having them easily displayed will allow creators to group DMCAs and reduce overhead to Linden Lab.

Benefit of Request 2
5 - Creators can search and be immediately able to work through listings to check whether pirate versus having to check every single listing to ascertain number being sold

6 - Stretch Phase -  add the capability to export our marketplace search results to csv and xls it will allow us to run data comparison. The search results we export should show, seller, item name, number for sale, number in inventory (stretch stretch goal), dates listed on marketplace,  date and time acquired, Initial Listing Price,  Current Listing Price.    This could be a function restricted to premium / Concerige users if cost is a factor.

Note if Goal 1 can be completed without Goal 2, or Stretch Phase  please do go ahead and vice versus rather than rejecting wholesale.  We can split out these if required to protect each ask.

Also noted - expansion of this could show how many in inventory and how many for sale.

Hi Lucia our specification and scope widens (and overrides the optional aspect, removing it)  as related to BUG - 227977 - this would not be an optional feature and expands into search requirements in addition.

That's why I said its related to it instead of saying its a duplicate. ;)

As any business online or mortar, there is always a check of inventory stocked, knowing how much someone has It's total transparency that's needed and highly valuable to the creative's inside of secondlife.

One line of coding.  Would show some unity between Linden Lab and creators. Let's hope

I personally don't think this will actually solve the issue as the copybotters will just list one single item at a time and then relist it again. Will it make it harder for the copybotters to list the item? Maybe. But it's not the solution.

The "dupe bug" is still there and they will be able to create as many copies as they want. Listing just one of them at a time won't be an issue for them. It might get a bit more tedious for us to spot these copies as they might just list one at a time and we won't be able to see which one is the original one and which one is copybotted.

Also it would help from a consumer standpoint to know how many the seller has if you want multiple copies.

@migrainepill - this certainly won't solve the issue - that bug is already raised to solve it is long outstanding under a Sec-Jira.

However, if we can get to a point where we can see inventory copies and creation dates along with quantities - it may not capture all user cases and those individuals who LL still have not manage to block from the service will try new methods.  However, it does provide more data and transparency so creators can use appropriately.    There is another Jira for those aspects. It also creates more work for those circumventing the TOS of Second Life with their continued pirate copies for sale.

@dzhi Diesel.  Thank you for your input.   That user case doesn't really fall into this scenario as all those items are separate listings.  I don't quite understand the rest of your comment apologies.

@LSChicky Fredericks, that's a very good point and strengthens the business case - the more helpful this is for more parties the better!
