What just happened?

This last time I was logged in underwater, no message.

What were you doing when it happened?

Trying to log into Second Life.

What were you expecting to happen instead?

To get into the game.

Other information

When I try to log in, one of three things usually happens: I get a "Darn you've been logged out of Second Life" as soon as I get in game, I get logged in underwater and can't move or do stuff, or I stall on the logging in to Second Life screen until I quit the game. Eventually I usually do get logged in, but it takes forever because of the log in issues.

I've been logged out three times in the last hour as of writing this after finally getting in game, not to mention the underwater/immediate logs I've gotten trying to get in game.. The game is almost becoming unplayable.

Looking at the attached logs:

secondlife.old

  • Second Life Release 6.3.1.530559, login with dirty cache.

  • Login button clicked: T01:08:09
    Creating inventory views starts: T01:08:55
    Creating inventory views ends: T01:09:39
    Login completes: T01:09:42

  • Definitely a login timeout here.
    Creation of inventory views taking ~44 seconds is terrible & suggests inventory needs deflattened.
    However ~46 seconds to even get to inventory view creation after clicking the login button is terrible too! Even with clean cache or deflattened inventory, there looks to be a risk of a login timeout.

  • Second Life Release 6.3.1.530559

  • Login button clicked: T01:12:22
    Creating inventory views starts: T01:13:07 (again way too long to get to this stage!).
    Creating inventory views finished: T01:14:01Z (nearly 1 min again, horrible).

  • Login timed out.

Hello MissSweetViolet,

Jira is not for 1:1 personal technical support and is therefore not able to provide one to one support in a timely manner. That said, I know Oz directed you to file a Support Case from the forums and it appears you found your way to our Bug Reporting system.

We can see that you have been logged in recently, were able to teleport around and had lengthy logged in session. Hopefully this means your issue has resolved itself or you have found a workaround.

As you can see Whirly has taken the time to inspect your log file and has pointed out that you have a very slow log in for uncertain reasons. Though quite possible it is due to the size of your inventory.

Please contact our support team and ask them to "deflatten" your inventory but do listen to their caveats about this process. Refer them to this BUG-227627 as well for confirmation.
