Steps To Reproduce

Sky & Water settings

  • Create a new sky setting in My Environments.

  • Rename this sky to "BUG-226964 - Repro sky with a long name to show bug"

  • Double click the sky to open it in the Fixed Environment editor.

  • Observe the sky name is truncated to "BUG-226964 - Repro sky with a lo"

  • See Fig 1 attached.

  • If you make a change to the sky settings & Save, the full name is maintained in My Environments.

  • If you make a change to the sky settings & Save As, the full name is shown in the "Save current environmental settings as" floater & the full settings name is saved in My Environments - see Fig 2 attached.

  • If you make a change to the sky settings & change the first letter of the name to P, then choose Save As, the name is truncated in the "Save current environmental settings as" floater & the name is truncated once saved in My Environments - see Fig 3.

  • Same steps reproduce for a water setting named "BUG-226964 - Repro water with a long name to show bug"

    Day Cycle settings

  • Behaviour is different when editing a day setting.

  • Create a new day cycle setting in My Environments.

  • Rename the day setting to "BUG-226964 - Repro day with a long name to show bug".

  • Double click the day setting to open it in the Edit Day Cycle floater.

  • Observe the full name shows in the "Day Cycle Name" section of the Edit Day Cycle floater.

  • Make a change to the day settings & click "Save".

  • Observe that after clicking Save, the name of the day is truncated in My Environments.

  • See Fig 4

    Observed Behaviour

Settings names get truncated in inconsistent ways when editing them & saving or using Save as.

    Expected Behaviour

Settings names should not be truncated.
The Fixed Environment editor (for water & skies) & the Edit Day Cycle editor (for days) should be able to handle the maximum length of settings names that you can use in Inventory & My Environments.
