What just happened?

I requested a change on BUG-226674 such that ALL empty folders would not appear in My Environment - Settings. I got what I requested, which resulted in BUG-226836

What were you doing when it happened?

Try to make a folder in My Environments - Settings.

What were you expecting to happen instead?

To get an empty folder.

Other information

I brought this up with Rider at Wednesday's Open Dev meeting to ask his thoughts before submitting a ticket. Rider suggested I file again requesting it be reversed. I then discovered it had already been filed and rejected.

Even if a better solution cannot be found. The way it is now, it will create a considerable burden on support to explain why the option to create folders exists, but does not occur in this location.

[2019/04/24 07:04:45] Willow Wilder: I have a case of be careful what you ask for. This bug report was accepted and "fixed" https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-226674. But now I feel bad because I created a whole nother situation.
Now you can't see newly created folders in Settings, and I have to send testers into Inventory to see them and rename them. https://gyazo.com/2b8a7a83161dfbad3cdd4724fe90e263
Rider, before a file a new bug report, any thoughts on how to make this moar better?
[2019/04/24 07:05:21] Rider Linden: We could put "show empty folders" back...
[2019/04/24 07:05:48] Willow Wilder: which gives us [BUG-226674 Show Empty Folders.png](BUG-226674 Show Empty Folders.png)
[2019/04/24 07:07:15] Willow Wilder: Which I couldn't understand the reasoning behind it. Was that because creators might include environments assets with builds or projects, something like that? So they would potentially end up scattered about your inventory?
[2019/04/24 07:07:58] Rider Linden: (one sec. Having trouble getting the image.)
[2019/04/24 07:07:59] Willow Wilder: Or just because you can have any asset almost anywhere.
[2019/04/24 07:08:16] Willow Wilder: It's on the bug report
[2019/04/24 07:09:33] Beq Janus: presumably you'll buy EEP assets in boxes on MP so they'll be all over the place in your inventory yes
[2019/04/24 07:09:36] Willow Wilder: Anyone else have suggestions?
[2019/04/24 07:09:46] Rider Linden: You can organize settings into any folder that you like, which was why we would show the entire tree.
[2019/04/24 07:10:24] Rider Linden: I'm not sure there is a way to intelligently filter it down.
[2019/04/24 07:11:23] Willow Wilder: Okay
[2019/04/24 07:11:33] Rider Linden: (I have a similar issue with hunts... until I've put the box in the right place I can't see the target folder in the new items tab.)
[2019/04/24 07:11:52] Oz Linden: The Settings folder really exists just to provide an obvious place for the viewer to put ones you create that is easy to find
