Kyle Linden commented at 2019-04-03T15:24:14Z Hi Eagle, We've been unable to reproduce this issue so far. Will you please open your mac Terminal and navigate to /Users/[user]/Library/Application Support/SecondLife and then rename your user_settings folder to old_user_settings. Then relaunch Second Life and see if the alt+zoom spinning out still happens. Please press the Info Provided button when you update this issue. Thanks! |
Eagle Himmel commented at 2019-04-03T19:07:27Z, updated at 2019-04-03T19:12:16Z I shut down SL, renamed the folder as directed. I opened second life and still have the issue of things spinning out of control. When holding down the alt key, I can click on my prim and the object becomes centered in the window. It isn't until I move the mouse itself to move the camera around the prim that the issues start. If I just move the mouse a little, the camera zooms out no matter what I do. As I move the mouse further out, it starts to spin away. |
Kyle Linden commented at 2019-04-04T17:13:57Z Hi Eagle, Is this happening on a second monitor or the primary monitor? Please let me know and press the Info Provided button. Thanks! |
Dekka Raymaker commented at 2019-04-05T00:31:26Z Hi, this as just happened to me too, first time in 12 years. I filed a bug report: BUG-226688 before I saw this. This is happening since the latest viewer update. I am a creator, and as described above it is making my building in SL unbearable. I have to walk around the door to check the textures on each size, and because the door is taller than me, I have to float slightly above it to check the texture there, I have just done 34 doors, in some instances I have just had to assume that the textures will be correct and double check them when this issue is solved. Help! |

Kyle Linden commented at 2019-04-05T16:36:10Z Hi! To anyone dealing with this issue we have a work around. I'm hesitant to share it though because this change will persist through regular updates and it's easy to forget you've done it. Please write this down on a sticky note somewhere near your computer so you don't forget, how, or that you have, made this change. Note: that using this work around will result in some other subtle changes like your mouse cursor hopping back to the center of the screen after each alt+left click and being limited to 180 degrees panning in mouse-look. Caveats done, here is a quick fix: That's it, the spinning alt+zoom issue should be fixed on either primary or secondary monitor. Please keep watching future release notes and when you see this issue marked as fixed you should be good to set DisableMouseWarp back to False. Additionally, please let me know if this does not resolve the issue. Thanks! |
Eagle Himmel commented at 2019-04-06T19:09:01Z As suggested, I tried the work around and made notes of what to un-do it, or re-do it should the time come. You are right that the camera only spins 180, but it works the way it should. It doesn't spin out of control. Thank you. |
Kyle Linden commented at 2019-04-08T16:05:09Z Great, happy to hear you have some relief. Thanks! |
What just happened?
I downloaded 6.1.1.525446 this morning. When I entered second life, I started working on a build. This requires me to zoom in to work with smaller prim. However, the camera zoomed way out and went in hyper drive circling me. On a hunch, I turned off HiDPI, and restarted the viewer. The same thing happens. I tried to TP to a different sim, and holding the alt key to zoom just isn't working. I am running a iMac os Mojave 10.14.3.
What were you doing when it happened?
Trying to zoom in on smaller prim to build. Trying to circle my build to ensure the proper alignment of prim.
What were you expecting to happen instead?
I was expecting the camera to center the prim I click on and the camera to zoom in and rotate around the center point as it always has.
