Rezzed a sphere, set specular texture to blank, set shininess to 1. Results in the attached screenshot. Similarly broken results can be found under different sky settings.

Specular to not look broken.

I'm working on a quick fix for this that better represents the BRDF that's represented in point lights. Will coordinate with Graham.
