simple repro (updated)

  1. Paste a youtube link into parcel media e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3S7zyzg4P8

  2. set a parcel texture

  3. rez a box and match the texture set

    observed

video web page loads but video does not playback

    expected

video set for parcel media should play

    Steps To Reproduce

  • Go to http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Kerala/204/216/2702 on any viewer build that has the new Dullahan/CEF update: Dullahan: 1.1.1309 / CEF: 3.3626.1895.g7001d56 / Chromium: 72.0.3626.121
For example EEP nightly build: http://automated-builds-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/ct2/33961/282812/Second_Life_6_1_1_525317_x86_64_Setup.exe

  • Attempt to play any YouTube URL using the TV set on the wall (VEA 3 HDTV eMotion 2.59d), for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAExWKYx_bg

  • Attempt to play any Youtuve video on the default LL release or any viewer still using the older Dullahan/CEF version: Dullahan: 1.1.1080 / CEF: 3.3325.1750.gaabe4c4 / Chromium: 65.0.3325.146

    Observed Behaviour

  • YouTube media plays fine on the VEA TV on viewers using the older Dullahan/CEF version: Dullahan: 1.1.1080 / CEF: 3.3325.1750.gaabe4c4 / Chromium: 65.0.3325.146
    See Fig 2 attached.

  • On viewers using the updated Dullahan/CEF version (Dullahan: 1.1.1309 / CEF: 3.3626.1895.g7001d56 / Chromium: 72.0.3626.121), no YouTube media will play on the VEA TV.
When you click on the "Play" button on the video, nothing happens.
    See Fig 1 attached.
All Youtube videos are broken on viewers with the update, not just certain ones.

  • On a viewer with the new CEF/Dullahan version, the same YouTube URLs will play fine when playing through the viewer's internal web browser or on a standard MOAP.
The YouTube URLs only fail to play when using the VEA TV.

  • When attempting to play the YouTube media, look in World -> About Land ->Media for the actual media URL.
    An example is http://veasl.com/vea3d/p_ytubef3.php?sm=N&vol=75&qtkey=480&vid=CAExWKYx_bg&l=Y&cc=N&k=c74c4dca-4086-2777-df8d-0ad470d84518
This URL will play fine for me in the latest version of Chrome web browser (Version 73.0.3683.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)) & in the viewer internal web browser. It just will not play through the TV on viewers with the Dullahan/CEF update.

    Expected Behaviour

I have no idea if this is a bug in the new Dullahan/CEF version or whether it's expected that the VEA TV creator needs to update their system to work with the Dullahan/CEF update.

    Other information

  • Does not reproduce on default release: Second Life Release 6.1.0.524670 (64bit)
    Dullahan: 1.1.1080 / CEF: 3.3325.1750.gaabe4c4 / Chromium: 65.0.3325.146

  • Does not reproduce on the current EEP-RC viewer: Second Life Release 6.1.1.525044 (64bit)
    Dullahan: 1.1.1080 / CEF: 3.3325.1750.gaabe4c4 / Chromium: 65.0.3325.146

  • Bug does reproduce on EEP nightly: Second Life Release 6.1.1.525317 (64bit)
    Dullahan: 1.1.1309 / CEF: 3.3626.1895.g7001d56 / Chromium: 72.0.3626.121

It's not an EEP-only issue - all viewers with the CEF/Dullahan update are affected.
