What just happened?

After this most recent update, after logging in I found that the huds I had would either not render, would render wrong, or would act as they they weren't there completely. When one hud is attached, the others disappear. My Tree of Life hud won't render at all and acts like it's possibly off screen. I don't know how to fix the situation.

What were you doing when it happened?

I was offline.

What were you expecting to happen instead?

Everything should have been where they where when I logged off.

whirly repro'd with basic shaders disabled on two most recent EEP builds.

Second Life Release 6.1.1.525044 (64bit) - EEP
Second Life Release 6.1.1.525205 (64bit) - EEP
Does not repro on default Second Life Release 6.1.0.524670 (64bit) - Bugsplat release
(suspect any alpha on a HUD is trigger)

Hi Feran,

You are using a Second Life Release Candidate (RC) viewer that was selected for you. You are very likely encountering a bug in that viewer, related to having Basic Shaders unchecked.
Your system has an older Intel HD GPU (graphics card) with older drivers, so you may not be able to tick Basic Shaders back on, without a significant loss of performance.

It may be better for you to reinstall the default release viewer and then opt-out of any future RC viewers.

Here is how to install the Release viewer and see if that resolves your issue.

  1. Run Second Life, but don't log in yet.
  2. From the top of the Second Life login screen, click the Me menu > Preferences.
  3. Click the Setup tab
  4. Uncheck "Willing to update to release candidates" then click OK
  5. Quit Second Life
  6. Download and install the Release viewer from get.secondlife.com
  7. You are now set up to run the Second Life Release viewer.

If you are still having issues after going back to Second Life release, please contact support.
