So I'm stuck with EEP on my sim I guess, after spending many hours getting windlight just right.
The main issue is that water has no clouding effect now from above. I have to have it either crystal-clear, or no transparency at all. There is no adjusting clarity from the surface, so my water looks absurd on my sim. On windlight, I could get partial transparency so you could see a little under the surface, like partial dock stilts, which was very realistic. This is on either ultra or low settings, it looks the same. I feel like closing my sim until this gets fixed, it looks awful no matter what I try :(
Also, it's making my terrain very washed out, while making landscaping stark and dark. It's just a mess overall and I can't fix it. The attached pictures were all on ultra setting, and the difference should be obvious which were taken on Firestorm with windlight, and the EEP viewer. Both are identical environment settings, what is set on the sim. The main "bug" is how the water fog isn't functioning right. As in, not at all, from above.
What were you doing when it happened?
Just going about my business, obviously this started when the sim was restarted and the EEP implemented.
What were you expecting to happen instead?
I was excited about EEP, and thought it would make things even more realistic with some adjusting on my part. Instead, it made my sim a disaster, after a lot of hard work I put in to get it how I was happy, before.
Other information
Regions should have more flexibility on setting default windlight or EEP. Being forced to use this new environment, on a viewer I strongly dislike, especially when I think the effect is worse, doesn't make me a happy camper.

OK I found a workaround for the sun position at least. If I set region environment to the sky I want, apply it, it makes the sun go somewhere else. But if I leave it, then change the water setting separately, when I apply the new water, the sun moves to where it's supposed to be. So I'm content for now, because on my viewer, things look mostly the same as they used to. That's all I wanted, to not have to change things.
