How would you like the feature to work?

Re-activation of Steam App ID #209930 - Second Life which was last touched on March 15, 2016.

Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

Steam recently updated their privacy poli-- game policy, which in their own words, "allow everything onto the Steam Store, except for things that we decide are illegal, or straight up trolling". (Ref: https://steamcommunity.com/games/593110/announcements/detail/1666776116200553082 )

Second Life was once to be added to Steam, it was announced back in August 16, 2012, and I was quite excited because I might be able to finally convince some of my steam friends to join Second Life. Unfortunately this never came except for the App ID which is inaccessible through normal means.
Peter Grey mentioned in a email to New World Notes:

Without going into details, our plans to make Second Life available on Steam hit some complications and so were put on hold.
I assume these complications where very likely the fact of Steam's previous unfriendliness to games which allow adult user generated content. I could be wrong but I figured this is very likely the reason why which is why I am making this Jira issue.

Since Steam recently did lift their "ban" of such games which allow such user generated content, perhaps maybe now would be a great time to start reconsidering the addition of Second Life to the Steam Games or Software library. I feel it would be a great thing as it would allow for background updates(Even though the viewer currently does have a updater, a background updater would be nice so it is always ready when you want), as well as allowing social features on steam(EG: Allowing users to enable a "Join in-game" for their friends on steam).
This would also allow for some fun Second Life related things on steam as well such as trading cards and emoticons(Some I could think of: :cube: which is a single plywood prim cube with the title "It all starts with a cube", LR crystals, "Missing Image", etc).
Additionally and of course, optionally, use of the steam api could allow use of steam wallet to buy L$ and scoreboards for Linden games such as Linden Realms and Glytch hunts(EG: Number of caught glytches), which can be handled server side by LSL using steam's server side score boarding system by checking for a linked steam account.

Again, I am making this issue just as a bit of awareness of the change of steam's policy. I don't expect that "oh they updated it we will add it now" to happen because it is a big decision and also the complications mentioned might not be what I thought they were.

(p.s. unrelated but not sure where to mention this, patterns was a thing i would like to see back on steam maybe perhaps in the future because i never got to try it and when i went to get it it went off sale, steam workshop might be able to get rid of the server side hosting by storing all the shared creations on workshop instead of server. I'd be willing to attempt to integrate such features if it would be desired to revive it but no one has time to work on it, feel free to ignore this tho since it is unrelated)
