I would like to see an option to either output the stitched together 360-image or output the individual images as a set for manual stitching in Photoshop or another image editor.
I am undecided if this should be a permanent feature or a temporary feature while the snapshot tool is completed. That pretty much depends on the quality of the final version's output.
Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?
In the early project version, a set of individual images was the output. These images had to be stitched together in an image editor. We were seeing better stitching than the current (5.1.2.512774) 360 Snapshot Camera is providing.
Also, it is going to be difficult to edit/polish the stitched 360-images in Photoshop.
While I suspect the goal is to provide an easy to use tool and pop images into social sites, many are creating high-quality images that better portray the actual view inside SL. The current 360 Snapshots tend toward fuzzy and provide poor stitching, not representing the SL world well.
My hope is we can quickly get a version that provides individual image sets if we select that option. I hope it will be easy to add the option and allow us to get the sets while the Lab works on completing and improving the tool.
I think the option will allow artists more freedom and there will be a better presentation of SL on social sites and Place Pages. No one wants a fuzzy or poorly stitched image for their Place Page...
