When more than one animation is playing on any of the new bento bones - even when those animations are affecting completely different parts of the body, and even when only one animation contains translations - the bento bones stop translating.
My horse's mane is rigged to the wing bones and constrained to mNeck instead of mChest, so they use translations in every stand animation to make sure the mane stays on the horse's neck. The stands animate both the body bones and the wing bones.
When I play a stand animation by itself or with animations affecting only the old bones, the wing bones move like they should. But when I play a stand animation in combination with an animation on the face or the tail, the wings stop animating and clip badly through the horse's neck.
When this happens, the old body bones will continue to animate correctly, so the stand animation is obviously playing, but the wings - which are part of the same animation - will stop moving.
Vir, I'm sending you a folder with the name of this Jira. In it is my horse and some animations listed below. I can send this folder to anyone else working on this bug as well.
Animations included:
stands animate the body and wings, with translations
face animates the face only, with rotations
tail animates the tail only, with rotations
background animates the body only, no bento bones, with translations
arm animates the left arm, no bento bones, with rotations
Results I'm seeing:
stands by themselves, or with background, or with arm work fine
stands with tail or with face, wings stop translating but body continues
[BENTO] bento bones stop translating when more than one animation is playing

It looks like the problems here are caused by the animations for tail and face including rotation tracks for mWingsRoot. When they're playing, this causes the mane to shift on the neck and show the wrong appearance. I did a test where I stripped out the mWingsRoot track from the tail animation, and it fixed the problem. You may want to double check which joints are being included when you create the .anim files.
Hm. If that's the case then I must be experiencing an issue with .anim exports, because the mWingRoot bone is definitely not animated in my blender file. I'll look into it... Sorry for the false report.
