[BUG-11309] Mesh avatar deforms constantly #1523
Comments
ObviousAltIsObvious commented at 2016-01-29T05:32:29Z Do the glitches you are seeing now, look like the ones illustrated in BUG-7239 ? |
SexySteven Morrisey commented at 2016-01-29T14:30:10Z Yes, very similar. Mesh is not loading, or not loading completely. Avatar is deformed and clothing looks tattered/ripped; mesh fingers look like whittled sticks. |
Whirly Fizzle commented at 2016-01-30T23:48:55Z Can you attach some screenshots to this JIRA issue showing how your avatar should look and how it looks after zooming the camera out and back? Is there one particular mesh avatar that reproduces this problem or do any mesh attachments reproduce it for you? |
SexySteven Morrisey commented at 2016-02-05T02:56:57Z Two snapshots attached. One showing the deformed mesh avatar, the other showing normal appearance after relogging into SL. Deformation of avatar took place after teleport into a new region. No other remedy to fix appearance other than to relog. |
SexySteven Morrisey commented at 2016-02-05T03:58:07Z An even better example of how deformed my mesh avatar becomes. |
Whirly Fizzle commented at 2016-02-05T14:40:25Z Hmm, that does very much look like the BUG-7239 problem. Did this problem definitely start for you after your viewer updated to Second Life 4.0.1 (310054)? |
Whirly Fizzle commented at 2016-02-05T14:45:38Z What mesh body is the shown in your images? |
scottmanley commented at 2016-02-07T03:55:56Z The mesh is L'uomo "Scott" and the problem became severe upon the release of Second Life version 4.0.1.310054 (4.0.1.310054). I would say 1 in every 6 teleports causes the deformation and the only remedies are: 1. relogging; 2. removing all mesh articles and then reattaching them. |
Whirly Fizzle commented at 2016-02-07T04:08:55Z Thanks! I doubt this is a specific problem with this mesh avatar & I suspect it's BUG-7239 again tbh. L'Uomo Scott: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Scott-Mesh-Avatar-V2230/3809543 |
Whirly Fizzle commented at 2016-02-07T05:22:23Z Ok I can easily reproduce that. When the mesh deforms after a teleport, if you right click on the mesh, it will instantly make it pop back into shape. Reproduced on Firestorm 4.7.5 and LL viewer. LL viewer pics showing graphics settings:
Also to note. sometimes when the deformation occurs, just moving camera view slightly fixes the problem. Second Life 4.0.1 (310054) Jan 14 2016 18:17:17 (Second Life Release)

Whirly Fizzle commented at 2016-06-07T21:39:48Z Still reproduces on Second Life 4.0.5.315117 (Second Life Release) https://gfycat.com/UnfortunateRevolvingElk In the above video I did the following:

Whirly Fizzle commented at 2016-11-06T15:11:48Z, updated at 2016-11-06T15:12:41Z The fix for this bug, MAINT-6125 - Mesh avatar deforms constantly causes BUG-40845 |
Steps to Reproduce
As stated above, when camera is positioned on objects or avatars near or far and then returned to the "default" via, I find my avatar mesh is missing vectors and looks primitive and deformed.
Actual Behavior
Since last SL viewer upgrade, my mesh avatar and clothing gets deformed on a consistent basis when I zoom camera away from myself and then return to standard avatar view.
Expected Behavior
8+ year user of SL. I expect all technologies introduced to SL, such as sculpties and mesh,to work flawlessly with SL's proprietary viewer.
