Grumpity Linden commented at 2016-06-01T00:18:32Z No more fuzzy results on Boolean searches! |
ChinRey commented at 2016-06-03T11:55:26Z, updated at 2016-06-03T11:58:01Z I don't know about Boolean searches but I'm afraid there are still a lot of fuzzy results in regular MP searches. There is a thread on the forum about applier outfits for gorean freewomen right now, so I decided to take a look at MP to see what actually exsited. Three searchwords: 125 search results in the Women's Apparel category, the vast majority of them has no relevance to the search whatsoever. This is not keyword spamming, I checked the source code for some of the listings and the words gor and freewoman were nowhere to be found. Edit: Tried to include a link to the search results page but had to remove it - seems JIRA doesn't like the kind of loooooong URLs MP produces. |

Whirly Fizzle commented at 2016-06-07T06:08:26Z Hmm your 125 search results appear to be the results when using legacy search. Legacy search - 125 results: http://bit.ly/24vaS7l |
Grumpity Linden commented at 2016-10-17T23:01:45Z We shipped a change that allowed us to disable fuzzy matching, and flipped that switch a week ago. So far, I've seen no negative effects in our metrics, so I'm inclined to keep it off. |
Steps to Reproduce
Testing the new MP search function.
Actual Behavior
I was testing the new MP search function, searching for a name I use for some of my own listings, Coniston. The result showed up all the 15 listings on MP using that search word but also four that didn't have any connection to it at all.
Expected Behavior
I expceted the search engine to omnly list actual matches not a number of other seemingly randomly selected listings.
