Heya Alexa,

I don't see a "More" button when viewing your feed in a web browser at https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower
So I guess this is a web end bug, not a viewer bug.

You can still access your older snapshot here for now: https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower/snapshots

Lino, my fingers are crossed that the "more" button will be restored.
I appreciate both of your assistance.

Hello!! :)

I have to admit I am unclear as to whether or not the "more" button will restored.

This............I don't see a "More" button when viewing your feed in a web browser at https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower
So I guess this is a web end bug, not a viewer bug.

...........I'm not clear on what a web end bug is.

So I suppose my question is, is...........Can I expect this to be resolved? :))))

Thank you,
Alexa

Heya Alexa,

This JIRA issue got "Accepted" & imported which means a Linden verified that it's a bug.
I do not know if your issue is in a queue to get fixed though, a Linden can hopefully answer that.

Some other people I know who had the "More" button disappear from their feed managed to fix it by making some new posts and sending new snapshots to their feed, which popped back the more button, so it's worth a try doing that.
There have only been 2 posts in the last 2 months on your feed.

Hiya Whirly!

I was hoping and had my fingers crossed that my issue would have been resolved with the latest FS update to no avail. I also tried your suggestion by adding some new snapshots, but unfortunately that didn't resolve it either.

I appreciate your attention and suggestions and just hope that someday my "more" button makes a comeback :))

Hmm, I don't see any new snapshots at all on your profile feed. The last entry was 3 months ago: https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower.
This isn't something that be fixed in the viewer, your More button is missing on the web page at https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower.
All the viewers do is display the web page content within the viewer profile window, if its broken on the web page it will be broken in all viewers too.

Have you tried contacting LL support to see if they can fix your broken More button? https://support.secondlife.com/contact-support/
I'm not sure why you problem isn't fixed - others have reported the missing More button and they have been fixed.

Hi Whirly,

Thank you for doing a few tests, I see them on my web page. I am able to view some of the pics, not sure why you can't. :)

I haven't contacted LL support and didn't know where to start, so your link is great!! I'll keep you posted smiles

Well Whirly......
Per your advise I sent my issue to the link you provided and based on the answer (posted below for your viewing,) it seems as though I've hit a dead end and as disappointed as I am, I have concluded that I will probably never get this resolved.
Thank you for all you tried to do, I really appreciate your attention.

Yes, but I'm not sure why you expect anyone in Answers to do anything. We have no special powers. As I said in my note, it's obvious that you and Whirly have already submitted a JIRA. That's where any resolution is going to come from. Other than telling other SL residents about your problem, there's nothing gained by posting that thread. Unless I am missing something.

Ahh sorry Alexa, I wasn't very clear in my post.
I meant for you to try filing an actual support ticket with LL support to see if they can fix your More button. You can file a support ticket here: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
As far as I know, support have been able to fix missing More buttons on the feed before, but I have no idea if there is more then one cause of the problem and maybe your problem is something different and not as easy to fix. Anyway, it's worth a try :)
You can reference this JIRA issue in your support ticket.

The button finally came back the middle of December and I was able to see all my pics from years ago. The button mysteriously disappeared only a few days later. :(((( I just don't understand.

Hello,
Is there a way to look into this issue again for me? The more button was back for a few days, but now it is gone again. I filed a JIRA with Firestorm and got the following answer. I just don't understand why this is happening and I am going in circles to get it resolved. Any assistance will be appreciated. Thank you.

Closing as out of scope. What is shown in the web profile is a web page generated by Linden Lab. The viewer itself does not have any influence on it. You will have to file a bug report at the Linden Lab JIRA if you think this is a bug: https://jira.secondlife.com

Heya Alexa,

I can see the "More" button has gone missing again on https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower.

Did you ever actually file a support ticket directly with Linden lab support about this?
I'm hoping they can actually fix this for you.
You can file a support ticket here: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
You can give support the link to this JIRA issue too: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-10130

Hiya Whirly, (it's me again) LOL

I am really confused as to whom I have filed a support ticket to as there has been sooooooo many! Each time I get a response that I am either in the wrong area or they aren't able to help me. :)

But yes, I believe I filed a ticket directly with LL. Here is the link to the one I filed in November along with screen shots for your review. - https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/

Here is another link and screenshots to the latest one that I filed yesterday, which was closed immediately. http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-17587
For which I see you posted a comment on. Thank you

I am just dumbfounded why after all this time of attempting to get this resolved that the more button finally appeared then was gone again within a few short days.

Thank you again for any assistance you can provide.

Heya :)

Ok, the first set of images were a post you made on the forums, where it was normal users like myself who replied to you.
The second set of images were from your Firestorm JIRA issue.
So I suspect you have not actually filed a support ticket directly with the official Linden Lab support yet.

What you need to do is:

  • Go to https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ ans fill out the support ticket form.
  • The best category to choose looks to be "Account issues" -> "Second Life web login issues" (there really isn't an applicable category for this but support will move it if needed).
  • Explain what the problem is and give a link to this JIRA issue.
  • Once you have filed a support ticket, you will have a case number. You can paste the link to your case number here and JIRA Lindens will be able to see your case.
  • Keep your fingers crossed :)

Hi Alexa,

Thank you for your patience while our team works on a solution to this issue. As Whirly has already stated please use the link https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower/snapshots to look at older photos.

Unfortunately there is no quick fix that support can provide at this time. Please watch future release notes to confirm resolution of this issue.

Thanks

Thank you Whirly and Kyle for your attention. Is it possible that someone can explain to me why this has happened to my account and why there is no quick fix when it is obvious that it is not an issue for others? I would also like to understand why is was resolved about a month ago for a few days. I'm not complaining to either one of you, these questions are from total frustration. Thank you again

Hi Alexa,

I'm sorry I don't know exactly why this happens, in general it means something is corrupt on your Profile feed.

Fortunately while trying to answer this question for you I found that this link works and contains the 'More' button at the bottom https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower?page=2

Which also strongly implies that something on your first feed page is the problem.

Hang in there and I hope the new link helps you get around this problem even more.

Thanks,

Hi Kyle,

I wanted to follow up with you in regard to your last comment on Jan 8th. Maybe this information will prove helpful in your quest in resolving this issue. The following link you provided does not contain the "more" button https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower?page=2 ~ I am only able to view my pictures up to "The Home of Alexa" I suspected the issue had something to do with my viewer, but now that I am also unable to see it on the web, I am confounded. :)

Thank you,
Alexa

Hmm Kyle's link (https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower?page=2) works for me in Firefox and Chrome on Windows 10.
I see the More button on both browsers when opening that link.

Are you sure the link in the address bar is actually https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower?page=2 ?
I don't know why but several times when I went to that link via "right click, open in new tab", the link that opened was https://my.secondlife.com/Alexa.Edenflower.
I had to paste the link directly into the web browser address bar for it to work.

Kyle Linden commented at 2016-01-13T17:20:26Z

Yes, the profile URL must end with ?page=2 or the workaround will fail.
It is definitely a web failure, not the viewer. Depending on small difference between your computer system and various browser plugins you may or may not be running, this 'trick' may not prove useful either.
My hope was to help you find a short cut while we fix the core problem.

Thanks!

Hello Kyle,

I tried it again and by pasting it to the address bar it worked! Maybe the first time the ?page=2 didn't carry over. :)

Kyle,

I am so confused! Does the following case comment have to do with with what you are working on? Did someone get confused that because I said that the "WEB" address worked that my issue is resolved? Because I am still unable to view all my pictures from my "PROFILE" web feed tab. If that is what has happened, can we please "reopen" it?

Thank you again,
Alexa

Don't worry about that note, support and JIRA are separate paths. All they are saying there is that going through the support route, they can't offer additional help so they're closing their end of it. Your JIRA issue here has been set to "Accepted", which means the development part of the company has it on the backlog of things to fix.

That is correct the closure of the Support case has no bearing on this bug report being 'open'.
