Ahhhh, thanks Blue! My inbox is much happier now
Usability tweak: I'd put any Actions that are performed on the blog post itself (aka akin to leaving a comment) horizontally rather than vertically, to distinguish them post groupings. I wish more blogs did this, particularly WP. Here's the page that controls all that stuff for your account, but is currently buried...fix coming soon (/me crosses fingers)

Argent, see my comment with
Click on your name in a blog post, this takes you to your profile, from there you can click on preferences and set your default settings not to subscribe or receive notifications.
Once you've done that, click save and this returns you to your profile. Click Email notifications, just to check you haven't missed anything, if you've missed anything it will be listed there. Like Ciaran said – that's the current workaround. When you're logged in, go to [FIRSTNAME].[LASTNAME]">https://blogs.secondlife.com/people/[FIRSTNAME].[LASTNAME]
I've made a video tutorial for this and related matters, ENJOY: https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/community/tnt/blog/2009/02/26/how-to-subscribe-to-these-blogs-and-change-notifications
What is the difference between "subscribe" and "watch"?
Not sure whether to make this a separate jira, or maybe I'm just not understanding other parts of the user Preferences, but: does Thread Page View do what it's supposed to, in "Threaded" mode? When I reply to somebody's comment, it appears in chronological order, not indented under the replied-to comment as I'd expected.
For that matter... is there somewhere that describes what further features are going to be turned on? such as Profile Image, for starters? Another source of 'spam' by the current blogs system is that "New Blog" e-mail notifications are sent to authors subscribers even when a blog post is simply updated after it had already been published
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1038 re: previous comment,
e-mail notifications are sent to subscribers also when a blog post is simply commented (by users I'm not subscribed too). See WEB-1028 , again. |

We're currently looking to set default to opt-in rather than opt-out. Also looking at adding Unsubscribe link to mail templates.
In the meantime, you can go to the individual post you've commented to and click Stop Email Notification in the Action bar on the left.
