Last night on 2-21-08, I was editing some scripts for a new environment rezzer (pretty neat stuff I think), and got a message that I needed to go pay a rental space somewhere (not part of this anomaly), so I looked at my funds. Ok, not a problem, finished up some more scripting, making sure things are happy. This was about 2 hours later, when I looked at my funds, thinking to myself ok, how many weeks to pay, etc.. When I noticed that I had a substancial amount added to my account, and did not get a notice that someone purchased from me. I went on the secondlife.com web site and looked at my transactions, and there was a 1250 payment to me. Type: Linden Grant, Source: SYSTEM ...

My question is, What is that for? I'm not complaining in any way, but I would like to know what it was for before I go spending it, then have it yanked due to a system glitch.

it is your bonus for signing up as a premium account member....

you get it 60 days after putting in your card info and upgrading to premium.

so you got L$250 for your card details, and L$1000 for choosing premium

I just got one today. I been premium a year and a month and a half, and been on sl for 2 years and a couple weeks. This is not a referal cause it would say as the source or desciption and it is not a stipend cause it would say that as well. All it says is Linden Grant, and there is no info or FAQ on what the hell this is. I am not complaining that i got free money but i do like to know why.

It has been about 2 months since my premium membership ended and when I had first signed up for it I never received a bonus just weekly stipends.

Not complaining about the free L$, but I am curious as to what the reason for it was.

It was 1 Year, 1.5 months for me too. I just got this today.

If this should occur after 60 days. Then there seems to be a problem with it happening.
I pay a full year $72.00 at a time not sure if this has anything to do with it or not.

Just reading SL website it states
"3# Signup bonus is issued only on our confirmation of valid credit card or other identity information. You will not be charged for this bonus — the information is collected only to confirm your identity.
Note: Bonus applies to the first account only."
"4# Premium signup bonus is granted to new registrations only. You will receive your signup bonus 45 days after the signup date, assuming your credit card has been accepted. "
The amount listed is L$1000. Don't really feel like digging anymore to try and find out the details of the other L$250, but "irie tsure " says that is for entering card details.
