 Description  « Hide
For the past several months the Education providers within Second Life have been able to post our class schedules in the Events calendar albeit with what I believe was a voluntary restriction of 5 classes per day. By "per day" I don't mean that we could only put in 5 classes at a time but rather we could put in 20 or 30 classes in one sitting with the understanding that we weren't spamming (i.e more than 5 events) a single day/time slot to the exclusion of all else.

Recently it seems, the "per day" requirement seems to have been both turned on and taken literally. We can now only input 5 events at a single sitting. This is a _massive_ problem for ALL of the educational schools in second life where we can have 20-40 classes running in a single week per school.

The Education Providers need the ability that we can input our class schedules into the events calendar without this 5 events per day restriction.

Linden Labs asked us in November 2006 to step up to the plate to take on the responsibility for providing education. I would ask that you please do us the favour to ensure that we have the tools at our disposal that we can fulfil this mandate. Schools such as Rockcliffe, NCI, ASL, eLumina and others are trying to take the lead on this but it is difficult when communication avenues with SL residents are constantly being cut out from underneath us.

Hi phelan, Guy Linden just let me know about this. I'm going to check with our web developers and watch this issue – I'll reply with further details of what I find. Sounds like buggy functionality and not intended, and doesn't seem like it'd be restricted to the Educational category either.

Thanks Torley — I'm not sure about the other schools but in our case we have one person doing all the scheduling. So when we started experiencing the problem it was a huge hit to getting information out the door. That combined with the Group Notice problem that I see you have an eye on has, I think, hit all the education providers the hardests. Its not so bad if one communication channel is out - but when two are down — it just seems that things happening at the wrong time. — Thanks for looking out for us )

I just checked with our Executive Assistant who is doing the inputting of these courses and the actual error she is getting is similar to WEB-40. The error seems to occur on both IE and Firefox.

Thanks phelan, I'm going to ask that this be mirrored internally so our webdevs can take a look. Linked to related issue too.

Phelan, I just tried to repro this – and couldn't.

Specifically, I was able to post 14 "test" events for today and into the future. I'll attach a screenshot (you'll find more by advancing the "Date >>"). I didn't run into the error described in WEB-40, and I'm using Firefox 2.

Can you please post which specific steps I need to take so I can see the same problem too?

so far horizon bailey has RE opened about 5 issues without any comments as to why. i do believe we have found the abuse beginning. maybe we should restrict these functions to lindens, not allowing 2 week old newbies from disturbing the work being done here.

Re-resolving, and I'll check into "horizon Bailey".
