 Description  « Hide
This is a meta-issue to catch those passing comments from Lindens about how they expect the JIRA to be used. This should help us all to help LL sort the bugs and feature we want sorted by following their guidelines and it might also serve as a template for a re-write of the misleadingly titled "Issue Posting Guidelines", as that wiki also discusses working o the issues as well as first posting (as it should). As this meta-issue will often be flagging a JIRA policy comment in the middle of lengthy comments please tread cautiously in deleting links. If in doubt find out who posted the link and ask them what comment warranted its inclusion.

Linked false Positives Increase as it includes a comment on re-opened issues resolved by Lindens.

Added WEB-270 Limit Showstoppers as it gives some Linden views on prioritising issues

Lots of suggestions including the encouragement (within reason) to edit the issue posting guidelines as they are a community-editable wiki.

The above comment (3rd) refers to WEB-194

Nice work. One thing I know is in the "Issue Posting Guidelines" that isn't really observed (even by me) is the difference between "Resolved" and "Closed". "Resolved" is when more information is needed from the original poster or another resident, and there's nothing for LL to do until that information comes in. So, for example, when clarification or a more solid repro is needed, an issue is supposed to be resolved back to the original poster, who would then reopen it once they provide more information. "Closed" is supposed to be the final resting place for an issue once LL acts on it.

I think this policy isn't really followed very well because people seem to equate the word "resolved" with "fixed". Also, it's difficult to know when your issues have received a response, because emails from JIRA don't work. I'm linking the issue about JIRA emails.

VWR-2565 added, which includes Torley's recommendation on reporting slow performance.

Added VWR-5368 as one of a batch of entries by Torley about issues noting as affecting the then deprecated Windlight. She went on to ask that only one version (standard/RC/Windlight is noted under affects. "Reopen the issue and BE SURE to update the "Affects Version/s" to the correct one, most likely ONLY "1.19.1 Release Candidate". However, if this bug affects the main viewer (1.19.0 as of this writing), then DO NOT set it to an RC version. Only set it to 1.19.0 instead. Be as specific with versions as possible – there's generally no need to set multiple versions, as it tends to dilute and confuse where a bug originated. "

I am closing this Meta issue as we have multiples at this time. We are reviewing all issues and triaging them independently.

Closing this issue and closing my JIRA career. Since Alexa came in it has been obvious that ignoring us has been replaceed with sticking two fingers up at us. Thanks to my friends up there, my view of Lindens is not typable.
