I'd like to ideally confine it to the Reopen Issue screen, so I've asked Atlassian if that's possible and am waiting to hear back from them... in the meantime, it appears at the bottom of every comment box.

I also experimented with making "Fixed Internally" more wordy, e.g., "Fixed Internally (not in public release yet)", but that made the fields too big and awkward.

Hmm... maybe "Fixed Internally (release pending)"?

Lex, interestingly we've had a number of suggested variants on that too, like "Fixed Pending Release". Some others like "Ready for Release" were also suggested. We're still going through possibilities and seeing if there's a clear-cut winner.

Also for context, Atlassian support rocks; Mario let me know, should we need to change text on individual screens (I don't have access to these files myself):

The information you need is located at this link:

http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Customizing+text

Once you have extracted the *.properties files you will need to make the
appropriate change to the file:

<JIRA install
directory>\atlassian-jira\WEB-INF\lib\com\atlassian\jira\web\action\JiraWebActionSupport.properties

namely the entry:

issue.operations.reopen.description

then follow the instructions for putting that back into JIRA.

Let me know if you have any further questions, have a great day,
