allow one to list all the issues they voted on to more easylly monitor how they are progressing (votes, comments etc)

unless people won't complain about privacy and stuff, this should probably be limited to the current logged in user

Go to your Profile, in the menu on left you should see a link to a page that shows all issues where you have voted on (Your Votes).
Only thing I'd like to see: a filter/page to track issues I have commented on.

closing it as "misfiled", the feature already exist, just wasn't where I was looking for it

ps:is "Misfiled" how it should be set?

Actually, I think this is an improvement that I think should be looked at. You can click on a "premade" filter to see what you have voted on, but "I have voted on" is not on the list of options when creating a filter.

Also, you cannot sort the "premade" My Votes filter any other way then it is already set up with, such as change the sorting by "updated date" which would be useful.

I was going to file a new one, but I think this accurately describes what I was looking for.

PROPOSE TO CLOSE

Anthony, while you are correct that the description can be interpreted as asking for more than what the premade filter provides, one could say that the submitter did not ask for more and gladly closed as misfiled.

Again, you are right that having this as a filter would provide further benefits. But while this issue was closed, another issue was opened (WEB-285) which asks for that. Since useful information emerged during the conversations there, I think that it is that one that needs to be kept and updated, even though it is newer.

Since you even linked the two issues, I don't understand why you think what you are asking for here is any different than what WEB-285 asks for.

My proposal is to close this once again as misfiled. The other option is to close it as a duplicate, but then the link should be removed. I can't decide which one is more suitable...

No ZigZag, if something is closed/resolved as a duplicate you MUST have a link to the duplicate.

ZigZag Freenote added a comment - 08/Dec/07 05:22 AM
I meant the link that now exists, as it will get a 'duplicate' link I presume.

The two issues are related, that's why I linked them, but I don't think they are the same request.

This one proposes that a filter option of "my votes" be placed as one of the many query options available.

The other just proposes that the existing default filter of "my Votes" be sortable and then eventually filterable.

There is a subtle difference, but I would expect that Web-285 would be implemented first, and that this one would be implemented later.

If this one were to be implemented, then it would resolve the other, but web-285 could be solved without actually implementing this issue.

I want both done, that's why I voted and linked them both.

I do not want to close this as misfiled as it is in the correct location, and is not resolved. If the original creator does want to close it as they interpret it as being resolved, I'm ok with that, and I'll open a new one that describes a bit more. I didn't want to open a new issue, because I thought this one was appropriately named.

I created WEB-285 and the distinction between the two seems too subtle to be worth bothering with - the issue they're both trying to solve is the same, and a fix for both (were it ever to happen) would likely be subtly different from either. If you want to change the link from related to duplicates that's fine by me.

There is a plug-in that I am getting installed (http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAEXT/Voters+and+Watchers+Custom+Field ) that enables creating filters using custom Voter and Watchers fields. Once it's installed, then one can create filters that you can see items you've voted on, or watch and combine with other filter criteria.

Sue Linden added a comment - 13/Nov/08 08:03 AM
I have added two fields to the "Find Issues" options: View Watcher and View Voter - by creating a filter using this field populated with your SL Name, you can create this filter (and any other criteria you'd like) that will have the same features as any other find issues results.

If there are privacy concerns with this, I can remove these fields. But this is the best (and only) way to facilitate this request that I know of.

hm, I thought I had posted a comment agreeing that eventhough the exact use I had for this was already possible without it, I agreed it should continue,,,,I'm glad you guys managed to keep tit up and even got it dealt with
