Linden Lab Issue ID: DEV-21923

 Description  « Hide
I have a previous tenant claiming they had the full right to resell land they were renting because it shows up in their transaction history as "Land Sale". For estate land this is not an accurate log entry, and leads to things like giving these scam artists ammo for their "semantic lawyering".

Please change this to "Land Payment".

Isn't this already covered by the presence of a Covenant and isn't the current position that private land is "sold", even though in reality it is a right to rent. You are likely to end up with more grief if someone clicks on Buy Land and is told they have made a "Land Payment" ("but I bought the land!"). You will always get people chancing their arm, if the land was not set to re-sale they have no resale right and if they persist it is harassment and you can ban and mute them.

I have said before the better option is to stop private land being sold and make it clear that it is a bond to be allowed to rent, but that is not what this feature request asks for.

Land payment can include sales. Change it to "Payment for land" if you are concerned. It just should not be "land sale".
