Alter the blog to allow a "paged" view independently of whether threaded or flat view is selected. This should allow faster loading.

If you go to your preferences, under "Your Stuff" and then "Preferences", select "flat" instead of "threaded" it should help with this.

OK, I'm going to reopen this because there's a misunderstanding I think. While changing your preferences to Flat vs. Threaded does indeed activate a "paged" view, it takes away the threaded (nested) view of the posts. Paging should be independent of threading.
