 Description  « Hide
A friend and I were exploring the new Nautilus sims. When we approached the large crystals in the amphitheater near the large circular harbor and the large 30-40 meter crystal near the harbor, my framerates slowed and I finally crashed. My friend had a similar experience on a seperate computer in a separate RL location.

Sounds suspiciously similar.

Checking out the nautilus sims I found i had a noticable slowdown at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Nautilus%20-%20Yamm/179/119/34 and a huge one right at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Nautilus%20-%20Anath/179/92/65as well as one at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Nautilus%20-%20Anath/179/92/65. Taking a look at the crystals even accounting the animated textures and sculpted prim components.. I still can't account for the framerate losses i am seeing.

I have seen this issue twice, on 2 different machines, with different viewer versions. I will look into it further.

Got a good repro, see VWR-8841

Appears to be fixed in 1.22RC9; running the viewer in ultra settings (with 8192 particles) and watching the Nautilus crystals will cause the viewer memory usage to plateau at ~220MB. I believe this bug has been fixed.
