Recently I updated my Graphic Drivers for my NVIDIA GeForce 7600GS for another game, and Second Life was working fine, occasionaly getting the texture problem where it loads either plain black textures or textures covered in writing, however yesterday the game started to flicker and move slowly and then screen went black, twice for about 2 seconds, then I tried logging in again, the same thing happened. I tried one more time and my screen went black and my PC hung and I had to restart. After this my PC actually was affected, the graphics were messed up on boot up and when I logged in my screen was black, so I could not see my desktop. I had previously tried installing older drivers to try and solve the problem for SL before my PC started to also turn black, yet there was no change, after re-installing the latest drivers again, my PC began to have the black screen / distorted resolution problem. At the moment my PC only works correctly at all resolutions if I uninstall all graphic drivers, everytime I install graphic drivers, my resolution either is distorted on my desktop or the PC is unusable and goes black at the desktop. If I try to play Second Life the problem continues and I'm forced to unistall the graphic card drivers once again. Please help, this should of been resolved and should not of effected my PC. I understand if this is NVIDIAS fault, but is there a solution? Thanks.
The error I had at first when the problem started said something like "NVIDIA has peformed an unrecoverable action and must close this application" or something similar, I am not too sure.

Note: When this problem occurred, I was running the latest primary client, I also tried the release candidate and I was able to log in for about 2 minutes, everything working fine before the same problem occurred.

I think it is the same/similar problem as this: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2680?ticket=ST-2513-2Gso20u1icsgp2uBDSXaHWTlEnFt0cujuBh-20

Lena suggested on the other Pjira:

"Downloading the nvidia "beta" drivers 175.16 seem to solve the problems."

Have you tried this?

I have tried and got a different error, something about a run time error and CC+? or something, I'm not too sure if the main problem is with my graphics card as my computer is also facing the same problem, however this problem didn't start until the problem with Second life. The NVIDIA beta drivers 175.16 did not fix the problem.
