1. Second Life Viewer - VWR

The new viewer creates weird objects projecting from different points on my screen as I move around or use my camera controls. This prevents me from being able to see what I'm looking at and I have to relog but then it keeps happening. I can send a pic.

 Description  « Hide
This problem happens no matter where I go in SL. I get strange graphic objects projecting out from various parts of the environment that I'm in which prevents me from being able to view the environment, sometimes to the point that I cannot even see where I'm going. If I relog, it temporarily resolves the problem but it always returns. This never happened with the last version of the viewer and I actually reverted back to the old version until I was forced to upgrade. I have a picture but can't attach as it's in my inventory.

Merrow, this sounds like you may have "Show Updates" checked.

Are you seeing strange trails of blue, green, or red shapes (often triangles) from objects inworld? There's a very good chance you enabled Second Life's update indicators. These are activated by hitting Ctrl+Alt+Shift+U or opening the Advanced menu and selecting Advanced > Show Updates. The update indicators can be toggled on or off using the methods described above.

If this doesn't resolve your issue please

  • Please run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool

XP: Click on the Start button and select Run. In the Open text box. Enter "dxdiag" and click OK > Save All Information.

I was sent a list of instructions, the first of which did not work. I'm now trying to attach the DXDIAG file and a screenshot, but I get an error indicating that this issue is CLOSED.

This only happens with this new viewer. I actually had to revert to the older viewer to avoid this, but now it seems I have not choice in the matter.

Merrow, thank you for your feedback and particularly the screenshot.

This seems the same issue that was reported here VWR-3258

Please disable (uncheck) VBO (Edit, Preferences, Graphics, Hardware Options)

It would also be worth checking to see if there's an updated driver for your Graphics Card

You can check you have the latest graphics drivers by either going to your manufacturer's site or by checking here
