I am having the same issue as well as some of my friends. It would seem to be linked to the Shoe Base, when we have nothing but shoes on our AV's... it will look like we are wearing pants/socks.. everything from the waist down will be the same color as the shoe base.

This screen shot I have attached shows my AV with nothing on at all and creating New Shoes with all settings to 0 and color to green

Update... I have backed down my graphics driver and seems to have fixed my problem with this

The driver I was using is the current release from the NVIDIA web site for GeForce 8 Series cards on Windows Vista 32 (178.13)

After backing that out and returning to my previous driver of 7.15.11.7516 the problem seems to be fixed.

The only thing I can not figure out is that a graphics driver on MY PC should not affect how others see my AV in world, yet in this case it did. Not only did I see the glitch on my AV but others in world could see the glitch as well, after backing my drivers down, everyone sees my AV as normal again, as well as I.

Confusing to say the least.

This issue should not have been resolved as "Fixed".

It looks likely that you have an NVIDIA graphics card with version 177 or 178 drivers.

There are known avatar rendering issues for these driver versions:

  • VWR-7957 (Clothing skinning error on nVidia)
  • VWR-9358 (Texture rendering problem Nvidia 178.13 release drivers)
  • VWR-8261 (With some clothes, viewer renders buttocks and legs totally white)

The following workaround has been reported:

  • Enable the Advanced Menu (Ctrl-Alt-D)
  • Disable rendering of Palletized Textures (Ctrl-Alt-F7)
  • Rebake (Ctrl-Alt-R)

I'm marking this issue as a duplicate.

Please look at VWR-7957, VWR-9358 and VWR-8261 and add your comments/vote to whichever you feel most closely matches your issue.
If, you feel this is NOT the same as either of these issues, please re-open it using the link on the left, and add a comment explaining why.
