Environment: Vista, ru nning in XP SP2 mode. Vid Card BFG 8600 GT OC. 512 Vid ram. AMD 64 running in 32 Bit mode, 2.2 GHZ

Getting massive frame rate slow down with this viewer, C+++ run time errors. I've tried all the bug fixed versions of 1.20 and end up back on 1.19.1.4 because 1.20 is so bad still

Please try the latest Viewer 1.21.6 http://secondlife.com/support/downloads.php

Please see this Wiki article "Turn off WindLight rendering" http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Turn_off_WindLight_rendering

On the login screen, before you connect to Second Life please go to Edit > Preferences > Graphics and set it to Low. Please check Custom and turn off Avatar Imposters. Under Hardware Options please set Texture memory no more than half your graphics memory.

Please check you have the latest graphics drivers by either going to your manufacturer's site or by checking here

If this is still an issue. please could you add some further information

  • Please comment on your full computer environment Help > About Second Life, this will also say which region you are having an issue with.
  • Please run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool

Vista: Click Start > (in start search) Type dxdiag > Click on the programme > Save All Information.
XP: Click on the Start button and select Run. In the Open text box. Enter "dxdiag" and click OK > Save All Information.
