When switching to or from Antialiasing and/or Anisotropic filtering, viewer 1.21.3 freezes then crashes O_o
Unsure of any information I can give, it doesn't matter where one does it, just switching to or from, crashy crashy :/
That is all...

(I'd post crash logs, but I can't remember how to get to them @_@ )

Jessicka, this article gives you details about where to find the Second Life logs and Crash Reports.

Knowledge Base > Second Life Info > Solution Finder > Technical Issue > Where do I find my Second Life diagnostic logs? Topic #: 4051-4209
http://secondlife.com/support/?questionID=4209

It will also be useful to know which graphics driver version you are using.

Thank you

6.14.11.6532 I think is the driver version, though this hasn't been a problem in any other SL version, so why now o_O

Can you post the crash log that you get immediately after a crash, so that we might investigate?

On WinXP these are usually found at:

  • C:\Documents and Settings{your_username}\Application Data\SecondLife\logs\SecondLifeCrashReport.log
  • also helpful to include: C:\Documents and Settings{your_username}\Application Data\SecondLife\logs\SecondLife.log

Edit: Okay, installed latest update to video drivers (released 3 days ago) and Anti-aliasing works without a hitch now. I hadn't tried to enable it before Oct 15th (release date of the new drivers) so I can't say if it was an issue before then or not. Also, I have an older ATI card so I can't say if there's a new driver for all cards to fix this.

Adding my Crash report as I'm getting this problem in the latest RC viewer, too. Report is from crashing before I installed new drivers.

Environment:
CPU: AMD (Unknown model) (1808 MHz)
Memory: 1024 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Graphics Card Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
Graphics Card: GIGABYTE Radeon X1600 PRO
OpenGL Version: 2.1.8086 Release

Shadowquine, could you clarify your comment? I understand that updating your video drivers caused the crash to STOP when using the official viewer 1.21.6. Correct?

But you ares still getting the crash in the RC viewer? What version of the RC viewer? Please let us know. Thanks.

Oh yeah, Ramzi, the bug is still around in the main viewer I believe.

Happening to me too. It wasn't a problem until now

Same issue. Turning on Anisotropic filtering crashes me every time.
