Still a problem with Release Candidate 1.21.4.98167
(see Incident #5) I am seeing this in RC4 iMac 20" 2.0GHz Core Duo Mac OS 10.4.11 did not see it BEFORE RC4.
Right clicking on a link set that contains sculpties seems to trigger this crash. happened again.
Release Candidate 1.21.4.98167 see attached file #6 same problem
Second Life Release Candidate 1.21.5.98701 Attached Logs for incident #7 & #8 Am able to recreate the problem - sporadically.
Go here - The Moulin Rouge (77,191, 21) first save anything, because this will cause the exit- as you face the bar, click the 2nd stool from the right as if you were going to sit. Poof, back to the OS with no warning or anything. The bar stool is a sculptie. An interesting side note is when SL is restarted the minimap is closed. The only thing in the logs appears to be: 10/9/08 7:56:02 AM [0x0-0x26a26a].com.secondlife.indra.viewer[9932] LSOpenFromURLSpec() failed with error -10661 for the file /Users/username/Desktop/Second Life Release Candidate.app/Contents/Resources/mac-crash-logger.app. followed by: 10/9/08 7:56:02 AM com.apple.launchd[72] ([0x0-0x26a26a].com.secondlife.indra.viewer[9932]) Stray process with PGID equal to this dead job: PID 9934 PPID 1 SLVoice 10/9/08 7:56:02 AM com.apple.launchd[72] ([0x0-0x26a26a].com.secondlife.indra.viewer[9932]) Exited with exit code: 1 This happens on 2 different iMacs - a brand new 3.06gz box with 2GB and a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS chipset as well as an older 1.8gz iMac with a ATI Radeon X1600 This has happened on the last 3 RCs (current RC being 1.21.5 (98701)) New Info:
I think this problem directly relates to: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9312 The problem seems that there is no executable code in: /Applications/Second Life Release Candidate.app/Contents/Resources/mac-crash-logger.app could this message about XCode 3.1 be related? :
https://lists.secondlife.com/pipermail/sldev/2008-September/011839.html As I believe that this issue is same as http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9312
This issue, which had been fixed in 1.21.6 Official Version, has now reappeared in the new Release Candidate 1.22.0.103345
As stated in http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9312 'mac-crasher-log' does not appear to contain a launchable application. also 'SLVoiceAgent' does not appear to contain an launchable application. Thanks, we will re-investigate this issue.
thanks Ramzi..
several points.. 1) this has evolved to the issue of non-launchable applications within the Second Life...no longer about selecting sculpties. Perhaps should close/rename this issue and start a new one? 2) since my left comment, the Release Candidate 1.22.1.103637 now does contain a launchable mac-crash-logger. 3) SLVoiceAgent is still non-launchable in Release Candidate 1.22.1.103637. (Right-click Show Package Contents) Hi everyone-
I appreciate that the tracking of various related problems may have lead to a new report of a bug on the mac-crasher-log. However, this bug was already imported and investigated by Linden Lab QA team according to the original report & repro in the Description-- as a bug on selecting sculpted prims. Our QA team has investigated that several times on the new 1.22 viewer and cannot reproduce that crash. I need to close this original report as Cannot Reproduce. It is being closed internally as Cannot Reproduce. However: please DO OPEN a new issue (rather than reusing this old one) for a "Sudden crash due to non-launchable mac-crasher-log." It was suggested to me to view this issue since this is the problem I am having i am adding the link to my issue poste. This is not something that should be closed because you cannot duplicate it.
Running Windows 7 Beta, but using the latest Vista 64-bit graphics drivers (9.2 ATI Catalyst for HD Radeon 3200)...I think I'm just crashing from selecting sculpties, but I think I've also crashed from zooming onto them sometimes.... is it an issue with sculpty LOD resolving or changing?
@ Nyna, I have reopened your original issue
@ Ashelyn, please use the latest RC Viewer and if you are still 'crashing from selecting sculpties', please add to issue
Thank you : ) Resolved as per Ramzi's comment |
