Thank you Ellla, but i did all that: All settings in prefs, clearing cache, uninstalling, etc etc. The matter is therefor not solved, the problem persists.
ATI released the Catalyst 8.9 today, please test to see if the updated drivers resolves your issue.
Thank you The Catalyst 8.9 update is not applicable to my graphics card.
Hi Chavi, thanks for this bug report.
It looks very similar to the bug VWR-3282... in which a capture of other parts of your screen suddenly become the texture of your clothing/avatar. Could you compare your bug behavior to the screenshots and description there? One temporary workaround discussed there is Advanced menu > Character > Rebake Textures (or press Ctrl+Alt+R) Chavi,
for now I will track this as a duplicate of the other bug reported. Please reopen if I am in error, and you can explain more information about how this bug is caused with different steps than the other one... will help us investigate properly. Thanks! |

Black avatars when using the ATI powered Macs are a result of Hardware Skinning.
Please try turning that off.

If this is still an issue please try completely uninstalling Second Life, retaining any chat logs you want, reboot, download a clean copy of the Viewer and reinstalling.
Thank you
