I think we should be able to mute other peoples sounds. For example: I have a 6 year old daughter. I like hearing the sounds of the games i'm playing on SL like zyngo etc. But when people are playing sounds like F YOU. Lick My P-ssy etc. I have to hurry up turn my sounds completely off. I might be sleeping I leave sounds on in case I get Im's for help. I get woke up to loud ignoring sounds people are playing.

Let use have a mute others sound button. We have one for music, video, ambient noise, etc. Muting others would still leave the land owners sound run so people hear the sounds from the games or other objects on land.

These sounds people play especially when you have kids around really makes SL look like crap. I hate walking into the room hearing all the sounds playing people do. It causes major lag. The current SOUND BUTTON does all sounds including anything you have on your land like games. Land owners sounds should still work on this button.

Please vote for this issue: MUTE GESTURES BUTTON

-------------------------------------------------
EDIT: I just was doing some thinking. This is a gesture issue. We need to be able to have a Mute other gestures button. This make more sense. That would also help some chat lag a individual may be having. When enabling the MUTE GESTURES button it would block any animated gesture + sound others on that land play.

WAs thinking even more about this issue. This might be better placed as a LAND SETTINGS Button whre the button for RUN SCRIPTS is located. For example: I'm sure people like IBM or Colleges during a meeting or if their showing off their work on SL hate when, if a person does the crazy gestures. These gestures can be played on PG Lands. Not all gestures are PG related. Most gestures I see are MATURE rated.

I think this setting would help bring more business onto Second Life knowing they can control the types of things people are doing on their land. Businesses in RL don't like if a person comes into their store or business & runs around screaming or yelling rude words out. This should be the same for Second Life.

Vote for this issues to get this feature added.

A "gestures" slider in the advanced audio settings would be LOVELY. Can't tell you how many times I've been in a crowd of gesture spammers and wanted to make them shut up (many annoying gestures don't have a text component, so you have no idea whom to mute). Has my vote.

Gestures are the one thing that is close to driving me away from SL. In all of the places I go, I need to be able to hear... either voice or game sounds. Gesture sounds add ZERO for me. They were cute when we first started using them years ago... But they have gotten old quickly. I mean.. a little restraint, People! Every day this week, I have logged out due to a headache from the noise from these things. With everything else we can do in SL, why can't we control the noise pollution? sigh

Gestures are fun but sometime they get annoying, gets my vote.

Gets my vote. I hate when I am listening to music and the simulator has good environment sounds, then comes an idiot and starts playing shitty music gestures. It's really disturbing, I was thinking about posting a request like this some time ago, but since I found this... +1 vote.

I'd sell my soul to not hear another "Hooooo" in my life ever again. its what drives me out of DJ/live acts at clubs. Nevermind the creepy baby giggle.

I wholeheartedly agree with McCabe Maxsted's comment and have nothing further to add to that one. Voted.

Gets my vote too - some of those gestures, when wearing headphones so as not to disturb my household, are so loud they almost make my ears bleed! Seriously, there should be an easy way to mute/lower the volume of gestures so as not to affect inworld music and local sfx.

I agree! It would be nice to mute gestures.

I own a PG sim and I get sick of telling people to stop using "bad" gestures...I should be able to disable them under my Land Settings (ThaBiGGDoGG Richez wrote)

Having to listen to sound bites played by other individuals (e.g, baby sounds, applause, silly laughing .....) is ruining the SL experience. It is very disruptive and disrespectful to the live performers and has a negative impact on the simulations in many other areas. There should be land settings that disallow these and a form of a mute button to screen out these on an individual basis. In many ways, it is one of the worst forms of harassment.
