 Description  « Hide
Within the last few days I have noticed a problem, seemingly not caused by any catalyst on my end.
My pants (regardless of which ones) my gloves (regardless of which ones) and even my lower body and torso turn white (with the word 'palm') written in the palm of my hand when I apply a jacket. When I remove the jacket, everything goes back to normal.
During this time, I am unable to edit the clothing – that is to say I am able to enter appearance mode and move the sliders, they mere have no immediate affect.
When I replace the jacket, the pants, gloves hands and legs go white again.
This happens when using either computer, and is noticed by others in the same sim.
This bug occurs anywhere I am in all of SL. I have duplicated it on several sims.

The following has been attempted to resolve the issue (on both computers):
Reboot
Restart
Change software (used RC and STABLE)
Clear cache
Change skins
Change skins while in edit mode
Different jackets
Different pants
Removing objects attached
Rebake
Removing cache directory entirely thus causing a new one to be created

  • When I attempted to change skin, an interesting and never before seen effect occurred. The head seemed to take on the characteristics of my old skin AND the one I was putting on. Another problem that may be associated with this one.

Refer to the following figures:
Figure 1: Pants and jacket worn. Note White pants (pants are actually black) and white hands.
Figure 2: Remove pants, jacket still worn. Note legs and torso white.
Figure 3: Remove jacket. Legs and hands return to normal
Figure 4: Change skin, note head is mix of 2 skins and body is new skin (same situation with jacket etc occurs. ) UNABLE TO LOAD FIGURE 4 – only 3 uploads?

This is figure 4; change skin – overlay of head torso changes.

I think I figured this one out.

I didn;t associate my updating to the new nvidia physx drivers as relevant, simply because it was days after that I noticed the issue. I can see now that by clearing my cache, I caused it to reveal itself.

When I reverted back to the old driver set, the situation once again disappeared.

Suggest 'fixing' sl to work with new hardware acceleration drivers from nvidia.
