I've run all the RC's and only had a problem with a couple of the earlier ones. Today I installed the official client and this is what happens:
1. Log into SL
2. Within 2 mins of being online the Client Crashes
3. Screen turns black
4. Recieve error message that vid drivers had stopped working and recovered.
5. Reboot PC
6. Go back to #1 and repeat..happens everytime I log in with the official viewer

I did NOT have this issue with the RC's.

Can you please attach a copy of the crash report - https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4417&task=knowledge&questionID=4209 will tell you where to find it

I have the same problem. I also had the problem with the RC at 1.20.14 some days. LL is quite well aware of this issue as it has existed ever since the brought out the 1.20 RC. It is also known that it is not entirely a client side issue, as some days there is no problem, others you cannot go more than a minute before the driver starts to crash. I realise NVidea is not a very common graphics card (sarcasm) but surely this well known and not particularly infrequest issue could have been addressed BEFORE making 1.20 an official release. I am dreading 1.20 becoming a mandatory upgrade. For me that could be an end to SL as unless they fix this I, and 1000s of others, will be unable to run it. What I find rather funny (in a sad way) is that the current issues log for 1.20 does not even mention this issue (despite that fact I have been both experiencing and reading about it for weeks).

Ok here is the only crash report I found in the logs. Even though I do have my client set to report each time it crashes, they dont always get through. This is especially true when my entire system has to be cold rebooted because there is no other alternative.

I have same issue. I'm just learning the JIRA process and i may have mistakenly updates related bugs when I finally find this one to likely be the main issue.

I 've had this problem (nvlddmkm Graphic Failure Error with SL Only) on all 1.20 RC and was not able to run. All 1.19X work just fine. It would be really helpful if someone post a rapidshare or yousendit.com link to the old 1.19 installer i can't find it anywhere on the internet.

End of SL for me until this issue fixed or I locate copy of 1.19 installer.

Asus G1sn laptop / vista64bit / nvidia geforce 9500m / 4mb ram

If anyone finds workaround such as drivers settings or graphics settings changes please post for all of us to try.

Thanks in advance,
00trader00 harrison

Same problem here. Asus G1sn Laptop/ vista 64 bit/ Nvidia geforce 9500m GS. This only happened when I updated to the 1.20.15 Viewer. Was using the 1.19 Viewer and procrastinating the update because somehow I knew as soon as I updated, I'd have issues. Looks like I was right again. Please fix this issue ASAP. For now I will be searching for a previous viewer of SL. Last place I knew of I could find one was the Nicholaz Viewer site. Not having too much luck now. Looks like SL got rid of their options to DL previous viewers on their site, unless I missed it? Several crash reports sent out since I crashed about five times within ten minutes. I even tried changing prefs. No luck.

First off PLEASE note sl doesn't support 64 bit anything so you might first try vamping vista back to 32 bit. Secondly please try updating your drivers to most currant then retrograding them back one version as this seems to fix nearly all nividea issues.
