There appears to be an issue that sometimes results in inventory loss when attaching another HUD to the same location as a currently attached HUD. See VWR-6110.

i will keep re-opening this report until my files are back. don't just click resolve if you haven't done anything to fix it please.

That is your right, it was not resolved as fixed though, it was resolved as a duplicate issue. Look at comment 2 on VWR-6110 by Alexa Linden if you want your specific instance of inventory loss fixed.

There are two issues here:

1) The retrieval of your missing animation.

This is a support issue. The JIRA Issue Tracker is not for technical support-type requests.
If the steps described on http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Inventory_Page do not help, you will need to raise a support ticket at http://secondlife.com/support
Re-opening this issue will not help to retrieve your animation.

2) The bug which caused the animation to go missing.

This issue (VWR-8268) is a duplicate of VWR-6110, so resolving it as such.
If you have further information on how to reproduce the bug, please add your comments to VWR-6110.
