Can you attach a screenshot? And are you sure you're not wearing white socks/underwear underneath?

Alexa Linden added a comment - 21/Jul/08 02:51 PM
Can you please provide us with a snapshot and steps to reproduce this?

I am also have the white legs problem, but not with all outfits. With one outfit it only happens if I put on the jacket and I have worn the outfit many many times before. When I put on certain socks, leggings or pants my legs go all white but not with all pants. I don't own any white pants.

This is one example of my white legs in a mermaid outfit. these pants are supposed to be gold. I have worn this outfit before.

this is a skirt outfit that I have worn before. the pants are supposed to be red and white striped.

I have rebaked, reloaded and did appearance over and over again. Even when I take off the pants, the white will stay for an extended period of time.

Ian, which graphics driver version are you using ?

This sounds like the issue reported here VWR-7957 which is caused by the Nvidia 177 series of drivers.

Please try a different driver and reopen this issue if it is still happening.

Thank you

The driver was changed to 175.80 and the problem still persists.

I have the same problem with white legs. In this photo attached above as a file attachment, I am wearing black boots that come over my knees. I'm using the latest vista drivers for my graphics card (177.92, nvidia).

I have exactly the same problem. I reinstalled my system yesterday including all drivers and stuff and suddenly some of my cloth paint some bodyparts in solid black (shoes for example paint all my lower body). I cleared cache already and put down all graphic settings, without success. Any more ideas?

My comp:
SL standard viewer & release candidate (both latest versions)
Win Vista32
4GB Ram
Nvidia 8800GTX (178.13 & 177.92 & 175.19 & 174.74 drivers - same issue)
Intel 6600 cpu

I tested a lot tonight at it got more and more weird.. I will try to put this in words:

I have a Jacket in my inventory. It just covers about half of my upper body if worn. And it is transfer. Okay. I now got two friends into the same skybox as I am in. I wear that Jacket and we all saw me with this Jacket and complete white legs. Now I gave that Jacket to friend #1. When he wore it, I saw a short moment the white legs at him as well. But they disappeared quite soon and the Jacket was looking fine. He never saw white legs at him, neither did friend #2. Now I hand the Jacket to Friend #2. He put it on and has white legs all the time like I have when wearing it. BUT. Both friends see the Jacket as it should (without the white) at Friend #2. When I get it back and wear it after this tryouts, I again have my white legs and both friends also see that..

I also tried out three different viewers. The standard, the release candidate and a 3rd party viewer. All with the same issues. I also tried all Detail levels of the graphic preferences. Another info: This don't happen to every Jacket layer. Some behave like this, some don't. And I just discovered that some pants have also some bugs. Shoes also can cause my legs to go white.

I'm using the most recent 1.21 RC client

Windows XP professional 32bit
4GB DDr400 ram
AMD athlon 4400 dual core processor
Video card: Nvidia 8800 GTS 512
Video driver version: 178.13

Any skintight clothes I try to wear are permanantly stuck as pure white. Rebaking, relogging, editing appearance, etc, does not fix it. However, editing appearance seems to allow OTHER people to see me properly, while I'm in that menu. But Never shoes properly for me.

Clothes with looseness seem to work alright, though. Or at least, pants do. Still having issues with shirts.

For the reporters with a Nvidia graphics driver from the 177 & 178 series, please try the workaround from VWR-7957

enable the Advanced Menu Ctl > Alt > D

disable rendering palletized textures: rendering > features > palletized textures Ctl - Alt - F7

and then rebake Ctl - Alt - R

You may need to do this everytime you login.

You can also revert to Nvidia 175.19 drivers to see if this resolves your issue.

Thank you

Would it be possible to have the ability to SAVE settings to the Pallatized texture rendering?? ie: having to hit CTRL SHIFT F7 EVERYYYYYY time one plays gets a little old.

I am having the same problem with tons of my outfits. if they dont make my arms or legs a solid color i get white with black writing saying something about a copy right. I've spent thousands of $L on things I can't wear!
